    Federal 595 RS-R

Has anybody fitted these to their S-body? Camskill have the 255/35/18s on offer at £135. It seems like so much tyre for the money? CLICK.

The car is only used in the dry on weekends, so not too put off by their wet weather capablities. Any SXOC reviews floating around?

    For future seachers:

I work for Federal in Australia & I have these tyres on a spare set of rims for track/drag days and they are pretty good.

I think Sambo rocks them on his M3 and rated them heavily!

Adam_L is running these on his S15 and I'm pretty sure he rates them better than R888's.

I will no doubt get them when my Federal SS595's are in need of being replaced.

Is the compound any harder than r888/ao48? What's the wear like? That's a bargain

Yeah harder than the R888's, so wear a bit better, but not as much grip, but friend rates them a lot.

I believe the compound is harder than r888's so will last longer supposed to be a lot better in the wet than the toyo's. Il be running these when my current tyres die.

Just put in an order for 2x 255/35/18s.

A shame the 225/40s aren't on offer, the pair works out £30 more expensive!

They're great for the money, don't know about UK prices but over here they're 20% cheaper than let's say T1R which isn't even semislick... around half of the price of R1R or R888 and i doubt they're half as good.

We sell quite a few of these

They're a good tyre, but perform quite differently on different cars.

I think Madda had trouble in his MX5 getting them hot enough to work properly, but Abbey Motorsport for example on some quick 350Zs think they're great, as they dont overheat and go off like an R888 does.

That price is an utter utter bargain, they must be clearing out stock - if I needed tyres right now I'd buy them from there with that offer...

    I had them on a 306 GTI-6.

I did 6 laps of the Nurburgring and 120 laps of Anglesea on them.

They still had loads of life left, and they grip very well, they don't get greasy when they get hot, and they warm up very quickly, the difference it made over T1R's was incredible, it was like a different car, after driving my car round, my friend even went and got a pair straight away, replacing his worn R888's and said he actually prefered the RSR's, said they warmed up quicker, and lasted much longer, and had a very similar level of grip. Highly reccomended from me

I will be getting another set for whatever car I get next.

I ordered mine from here: www.tyretraders.com/

    Very cheap and quick!

Another vote for get them from me, running them all round and they are a good tyre with plenty of grip and they dont give up completely in the wet like the 888's

Not to mention they helped me get an overall 4th place in TotB last year

No problem, I am thinking of R33 GTR wheels + 225/45/17 fronts and 255/40/17 rears, would be amazing

I used them last year on my S15 in 255/35, they were great, even in the wet, on a good piece of tarmac. I also ran repeated high 12 second 1/4 mile times with those tyres. I use the r888's in 265/35 now and they are amazing in the dry but pure turd on damp or wet surfaces. I will be going back to the Federal's when the 888's are dead.

What tyres do you use day to day?

Also how well to the RSR's cope with standing water and very wet roads?

i run these as my intermediate tyres in time attack, running the FZ-201 tyres in the dry not much difference in price hell of a difference in performance, running T1R's for my full wets

the 595 rsr is really good for wet tracks but hit standing water and their useless massively depends on tyre width for the conditions

i rate them but its all down to your own trial and error 9/10

    at that price? bargain
