    A caution about a yellow S15 Spec R.

Seen this on a local forum of mine, just thought I would pass the warning on as it will most likely end up with someone in England.

LINK TO ADVERT ON PISTON HEADS:

    http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3731960.htm

    XGARRWDS SISTER ROLLED THIS CAR.

HE HAD BOUGHT IT / DONE A DEAL WITH HI OCTANE IMPORTS FOR THE CAR A FEW YEARS BACK.

SIMON HAD IT FOR A WHILE AND THEN SOLD IT TO HIS SISTER AND SHE ROLLED IT.

THE ROOF WAS PURCHASED FROM EURO AUTO SALVAGE FOR THE CAR.

THE ROOF WAS CUT OFF A BLUE S15 SPEC S FOR IT.

THE CAR HAS ONLY RESCENTLY BEEN FINISHED AND ROLLED OUT OF THE PAINT SHOP.

WAS FOR SALE IN DOWNPATRICK FOR A WHILE FOR HALF THE PRICE.

NOW ITS APPEARD IN ENGLAND FOR SALE AND SAYS NOTHING ABOUT IT BEING ROLLED OR DAMAGED.

JUST A HEADS UP ABOUT IT.

    Just asked a question,

Curious to know if they are aware of the history.

I'd be surprised if they would admit it even so

If they join on here and get the good old welcome thread "they've done a good job pulling it straight" joke

    Another email from the seller.

    Adverts are being/been removed.

Inspection is going to be done on the car.

    Although it's HPI Clear !

Wether it was repaired properly or not I think is irrelevant really, its the fact that any prospective buyer should be completely aware of its history! then at least they can make an informed decision about buying it!

I'm sure there would be tell tale signs. If someone who actually new what they was doing went to see it

Would be a task to make that completely disappear

I didn't see the damage before, but plenty of filler and fancy bodywork on the outside, and everything covered with trim on the inside?

Unless you were looking for damage to the roof specifically, I don't think you notice, especially looking at the pics.

Saw this on Driftworks, no one could actually post any pictures up though. Was all "I heard of X person about it" etc.

Not saying it hasn't been in an accident, but internet rumours without any proof aren't great.

From the 'rumours' I've heard the insurance company never knew of the accident, so it never went down on any paperwork - hence the internet witch hunt against anyone selling it.

If the works been done well and covered with trim you'd have to almost take the car apart to see any signs of the amount of work thats been done.

As stated by the person who started the thread on our local site the car was not declared damaged to the insurance.

The people trying to sell it now had to have known there was something wrong with it, it was advertised on gumtree for £4k and never sold for ages, I assume they got it for a "steal".

I took it on very good word from someone that had hand in sourcing a part for it, he is also a member on here. And it was def 4k, it even had a bin bag covering one of the rear quarter windows in the advert pic.

For 4K it probably doesn't matter it's been rolled, strip the thing bare and sell everything apart from the shell and you're well in the money.

or pop it on a jig to check it's all straight, then have a full cage welded in - doesn't really matter if the roof has been off then - the cage will provide more than enough extra structural rigidity.
