Why spend s15 money for a cheaper run around?. Its gonna be about £6000 for an "ok" one. You might aswell buy a s14 for £3000 and keep the money you've saved from buying the car on fueling the 14.

yeah, the SR20DE is crap, slow, not economical - I managed 34mpg on the way back from Cambridge cruising on the motorway and around 30mpg on the 15 miles to work.

that was decatted with a turbo type exhaust on, so may have affected it.
    white '94 s13 200sx scrapped - mapped to 1.45bar. OS giken box, garrett GT2876R, 950cc injectors, ORC twin plate, nistune. 349bhp/325lbft @ 1.3bar CA18DET
white '96 s13 180sx - type g with more kouki bits - RB25DET, GTR steel twin turbo conversion, RB26 crank & rods. 2.6L VVT twin turbo, SR20 OSG box, OSG STR twin plate clutch, Z32 ECU w/ nistune.

current status: 180 a bit broken but to be repaired.

If its purely for show "s15 y0" i'd still rather have a turbo s14 then a rare s15.

At least the power will be there to use when you fancy a blast, i spose the sr20de isnt "slow" as its still a 2littre engine but i bet driving it you would kick yourself for not splashing out getting a type r.

I dunno, i just feel there is no place for the spec s in the Uk market, Maybe a donor shell for a project.

Cheap? He was looking nearly 6/7k for it in a thread on here recently, a more realistic price for the car is £3000. The price of Spec R's over here in Ireland is driving the price of them down all over the Uk, there has been multiple Spec S' for sale over here for £2k or less which a little bit of spec.

S15's hold their value very well in the uk because of their rarity. A decent standard s14a is probly 4k, a decent s15 r is about 10k. Purely because of the rare factor.

Type S by all logical thinking should be sub/on par to a s14a touring but its simply not the case.
Its all about supply and demand. Theres alot more 14's to 15's and thats what makes the car market price.

In current market with this fuel tax all sports are are taking a hit, but dont expect a decent s15 for under 6k. Maybe nails are selling in ireland for 2k, i wouldnt even bother looking at any 200sx for under £2k mark.

Well in regards to the original question, I bought an S15 Spec S from the South of Ireland drove it 550 Kilometres home and it done the journey on 60 quid of Fuel, the fuel light came on 5 miles from my house.

Excuse the flies and dirtyness of it, hadent even got time to wash it yet - All it needed was a front bumper which I have already purchased.

That was driving it fairly hard too, had it off the clock a few times (on the private sections of road obviously lol)
