    MX-5 Sidelights without pop-ups?

Anyone know a version of the S13 sidelight trick for a MkI to stop the pop-ups coming up when you switch the sidelights on?

Although that's the relay for popping the lights up when you flash the headlights - think I was getting confused

this may be more relevant - seems there's a dim/dip relay that you can remove to stop the lights popping up on sidelight..

Nope - on early cars the lights pop up when you turn the sidelights on, even though the headlights aren't lit up..

I'm confused, what's this thread wanting? My headlights pop up on side light, but that's where my side lights are??

Don't you have side lights next to the indicators, in the same cluster?

IIRC early cars had both dim headlights and side lights at once, you can remove the relay to stop the headlights popping up and just use the lights in the indicators cluster..

Those holes below your headlights are where the indicator/sidelight units usually sit. Where are your front indicators then?

    That's nice and legal

Don't think it would pass an MOT with indicators just in the wing mirrors either.

Erm I think it would it's completely legal as long as it clearly displays to on coming traffic that your indicating it does the job

I reckon it would be iffy - if you are at a junction indicating right, traffic from the left won't have a hope in hell's chance of seeing your right hand wing mirror... PM Chris on here and see what he thinks

Not legal at all. You can have the side repeaters on the mirrors but you need to have some on the front of the car too.
