Just watched this on iplayer. Thoroughly enjoyed it. So many icons, be it man or machine came from that era and form of racing. Recommend the watch.

Cracking documentary. Feel kind of sorry for Joaquim Santos - maybe he shouldn't have been allowed to be in that car but I bet he's been haunted by what happened ever since

Whilst I feel sorry for those hit by Joaquim Santos (and for him, he must have felt beyond terrible ), I don't like the 'If a car crashes into a house at the side of a road it's not the house's fault, it's the car and the drivers' analogy. Would you live in a house at the side of a race track? Sorry but it's entirely the fans at fault, just because it was done before and people didn't get killed doesn't make it risk free to stand right at the side of the track.

I make damn sure when I go to the rally that I'm not stood at the same level as the cars, and you can see them coming from a long way away not only because it is more exciting to seeing them drive towards you, but also you can see if they are out of control and you can get out the hell out of dodge.

It's a shame Group B had to end (and I wasn't around to actually see it) but it was inevitable really

Just caught a repeat that BBC4 had on.

Cracking watch, I've seen the odd clip of the crowds before, but seeing it properly. Just unbelievable!

Watching and following group B as a child was what planted the seed of modifying for me, I grew up with my dad owning cortinas, granadas etc, and one day my uncle turned up to take me for a spin in a pukka 205 T16 !!!
It absolutely blew me away, to this day i have never been so absolutely terrified and utterly excited at the same time!!
