T plate 200sx hunting on idle

    Guys,

Mate has a 200 sx t plate but its an auto. Hunting badly on idle.
No EML on and no fault codes showing. Just wondering if anyone has seen this before if its something common.

    Cheers

    Ian

Meant to say this vehicle is totally standard no mods. Where do the wing mounts usually crack? Is it usually visible from a quick look?
    Cheers

if it has standard wing mount 99.9% thats the cause..sometimes an extensive look in situ might reveal cracks but if you don't see anything don't assume its fine as it probably won't be, from memory its usually where the pip work goes into the IC

Pressure test the intake, it could well be a leak still.

still most likely cause is a boost leak - although with the WMIC out of the equation its less likely.

    Idle control?

has he got the aircon on, as it tends to drop the revs (n.b. if you have air to windscreen only its automatically got aircon switched on)

AC not on. Is idles speed adjustable on these?? Although it does run quite rough, how can i pressure test the intake system?

Also checked spark and compression on vehicle just to be safe and all ok. Are the plastic pipes bad for cracking anywhere??

I had similar last week, turned out I hadn't tightened the boost pipe to the turbo after changing my manifold

oops! Not good. Nah still nowhere with this one. Gonna start swapping all sorts from my own to try. Swapped all boost pipes with my old ones to rule them out. Really struggling now.
    Ruled out:
    Boost hose
    Intercooler
    O2 Sensor
    Cleaned AF meter

Where is the PCV valve on these engines? Is it down behind the inlet manifold??

Have tried blocking that off and it still hunts. Tried a whole can of wd40 all over the place and cant seem to detect it. How can i pressure test the intake system? Is it better to vacuum it??

Sticky EGR Valve was the problem. Blocked off and runs like a sweetie. Done it ages ago but forgot to add on this in case anybody gets the same issue again
