    Exhaust bungs

Is there a bung out there that doesn't require a hole to be drilled into the exhaust?

I'm guessing not because the pressure would push it off?

Would it be possible to make one? One that clamps onto the exhaust?

I suppose you could use 2 molegrips to hold it on. Would look pretty shite though

What's wrong with a hole in the exhaust tip? Most come with one anyway.

I don't want to drill into my exhaust, it's not your average bean can POS.

The bung would used infrequently as the car isn't that loud anyway but there are instances where I will need as quiet an exhaust as possible.

I'm so used to a silent exhaust that I'm considering selling the car to buy something just as fast but quiet.

Still not seeing the problem with a small hole that you'll barely see

There is no problem. I just don't want to drill into it.

It's hardly drilling into the exhaust, its a tiny hole in the tip that you won't even notice.

What exhaust is it? Wouldn't exactly call my Apexi GT spec a POS, and that has a hole for a bung...

It's a custom exhaust with a 'life-time' guarantee. I'm not sure how that would be affected if I start drilling into it.

just try to drill it in the most inconspicuous place there is, alternatively contact the makers and tell them your problem.. maybe they can help?

I did see that but it has a hole too so I guess it's no different from a normal bung. I think I will contact them and see what they can do.

Take it back to them with a bung and get them to fit it, a hole in the tailpipe isn't going to affect its structure so shouldn't affect any guarentee, but if they fit it then it then I don't see warranty being an issue, either that or get In touch and ask

on normal beancan type exhaust the hole serves as a fixing for the bung but also as a drain hole for the tailpipe, saves filling your backbox with rain whilst your away on holiday
