What you looking to keeping fresh water, tropical or marine? If I remember correctly if tropical? Have you looked at a few other sites? I know there is a lot of DIY led stuff on ultimate reef if you where looking at marine fish and corals.
Do they give off the right sort of light? you need a certain level of UV for the plants dont you?

They may throw some light into the tank but I doubt much use for plants and some fish look so much better under warmer bulbs. You could use them to back up a conventional setup?
You can get a range of bulbs for an aquarium. Marine to warm reds.etc. etc. For plants , yes you need the correct light but are these being used to have on for short times.( as well as standard aquarium lights)
Found some proper tubes on eBay, I think I'll give the LEDs a miss then
Get the right plants for your light level and a normal tropical tube will be suffice.
Any Pets at Home shop etc will have a selection of tubes.

If you want decent plant growth stick with a growlux and a use the LEDs as supplementary lighting, the plants will get the full spectrum they need. and the fish colours will look better, i use a combination of growlux and LED spots, which work very well.
Sorry, I should have made it clear. I have a light controller with 4 sockets for two T5 bulbs. The led idea was instead of the t5 tubes. But a bit of a fart on.
Plants, there will be a couple of tall grasses at the back, and some smaller plants at the front. Plant growth isn't a priority as such, as lOng as they don't die.
The lights are for aesthetic appeal as much as function.
However, I can get a pair of bulbs from eBay in the right fitment, and length for £22 delivered. They are juwel hi glo bulbs in a day/nature combo. That will give a nice light, good for the fish and plants. And easy on the pocket
I see, i had thought of going all LED however after using LED spots for the last couple of years, i have noticed that the light output drops considerably after about a year, so i stick with a mix of the two, but then i find LED on its own does nothing for fish colours, i keep African Cichlids, no plants but i have no problem with ***al growth, which they also feed on.
