    Traffic light road camera

I picked up my new E-class last Wednesday on the way home as I went through a set traffic light on a 40mph road as I went through the lights went to amber and there one of these cameras?

Its been playing on my mind as I don't see how they are fair there was no way I could stop before the white line as I was travelling at about 35-38mph and it changed as I crossed the line.

So do they only work when the light are on red or should I expect a find and points?

I believe (could be wrong) that they are only set to be triggered once someone jumps a red. Amber they wouldn't be processing.

It only works when the lights go red. It will flash too.

They are called 'red light' cameras for a reason Amber is only warning you to stop as the lights are about to go red

I never knew they was called red light cameras.

The only thing the E-class doesn't have it swappable/hideable number plates

some of the red light cameras, flash once on amber if someone goes through, or over the line.
Remember sitting at a set of lights in cardiff, just over the line, and one flashed me. never got anything for it.

its the feeling you get though, pit of stomach feeling. if i think ive been done for speeding or anything. get the same feeling when being pulled over.

reducing crime disorder and fear..... nah, you just make me feel guilty, for no reason.

Need some of those around this area. The amount of red light jumpers is shocking.

Yeah I'm guessing why there is a few cameras around there as a lot of people in that area aren't from the uk and won't know the rules so have to pay the monies

There is a lot of ANPR cameras aswell.

they can be converted to work as speed cameras also, so beware when going through them over 30.

Good. Red l;ight jump;ing is far worse than speeding IMO. Some people round here really take the piss and you can get 2 or 3 cars go through a red light after each other

The dual use ones here are smaller. Like a little box. No lines needed, they're digital and magic now.

I only know that when I got shown a photo of one I set off. I was in a covert vehicle with no blue lights on the back. I was quizzed over speeding but it was all good in the end

Yea we have them all over round Bournemouth / Poole. They're really annoying as you spend so much time looking at the speedo making sure you're not speeding, you didn't notice the lights change...
