You did what now!? God dammnniit
I am in two minds about the finish though, you can't see it in the pictures, but it's meant to be a satin finish, but there are areas which have become shiny from being played, so half tempted to polish the whole guitar.
I see your dilemma, but I do like the satin finish, possible to re-instate it at all?
If not I'd go down the polish route and do the whole thing as that would be pretty sweet
Today I folded and bought a Gibson Custom ES335 in Cherry Red. It is quite possibly the most gorgeous sounding instrument I have come across. I think the P90s might have a lot to do with that. So versatile too and the P90s have coil taps on them! So many sound combinations. I have taken some photos I'll upload tomorrow.
-edit- Bugger it, too excited to wait

Used to own an RG42DX, well made, heavy, lovely neck, but just too muddy sounding, way too much Mahogany to sound bright
I fixed the muddy sound in my Les Paul this weekend with new pickups and a coil cut switch. So much bite now for lead riffs it's unreal! Waiting for two more push/pull pots to turn up to wire in a master phase reverse and series/parallel switch too for the full Jimmy Page effect
This thread needs a bit of a bump...
Also, I need a guitar expert to buy these

You can coil tap a single coil, just can't coil split
All "coil tap" means is that there is a take off part way through the wind as well as covering the whole wind. Coil split is splitting a pair of humbuckers in half. Gives slightly reduced output and a little more bite. Don't really use it so much on the bridge pickup, sounds a bit nasty but adds a nice hard edge to the neck pickup outside of lead work.
Also makes for a nice solo switch for the extra output on top of the gain switch for my amp
