Cannot ........ stand ......... irony of this .... comment ......

Seriously dude, read a bit and come back, you are obviously interested but you are waaaaaaaaaaaaay off the mark, Im not even going to point out where but you can start with China, "the only way capitalism works" and "Risk assessment and insurance claims: why private services are 1000 time more expensive than they used to be"

Regardless, pension reform is not the same as denying an individual a promised bonus, not a valid argument for me.
To me it is a valid argument, as its something that was promised when the job was started, then taken away whilst the people are working.
Same as promising a bonus to a banker and taking it away (although in the case that began this discussion, I don't believe it was taken away, he just ended up pushed into not taking it?).
    bovvered?

Redeuced, not taken away, and as someone who has seen first hand his Dad lose the entirety of a contribution pension through mismanagement of his former company, what you are talking about isnt quite the same for me, certainly not as this was a reward for acheivement.

what people wearing green glasses needs to ask themselves is this :-

if you are not in a job which offers PERFORMANCE related earning capacity ( not a bonus for just turning up as some daily mail readers would have you believe ) ask yourself why not?

what do you contribute to your company or employer?

do you GENERATE income and earnings.

if yes and your not being rewarded then go somewhere else where you will be

if no then ask yourself what drives you to be angry at these PERFORMANCE AWARDS, is it just outrage or are you just jealous?

and the pensions argument is conpletely moot as it's not the same. you can turn up and be shit at your job in the public sector and still earn a pension contributionand income in retirement

Worth 16bn dolla . floating in march while gain him about another 5bn.

he essentially stole the idea from someone else and then bought then off.

Why is this not receiving public condemnation.

Whether the media advanced this hatred or not, its a well known fact gross (criminal?) financial mismanagement at the very top nearly bankrupted this country. Thats where the anger comes from, not from a jealousy that a CEO is getting near 2m a year in salary & bonuses.

Im in the camp that agrees the aggression shown towards Hestor is unfair and he should get whats entitled to him, but to say people are only pissed off because they are jealous is too simplistic. It doesnt help with top city bosses come out en masse to damn the decision to strip Fred the Shred of his knighthood.

Yes some cnuts fooked it up but now people have stepped in to turn it around and are still getting treated like cnuts.

And why is no one going after Labour for allowing house prizes to get out of control which lead to 100% mortgages being common practice as people on 20k cant afford a 150k house otherwise. In 1993 my house was valued at around 60k, in 2007 we paid 163k for it. Thats fooking mental

Yer could you imagine the impact of there being no Microsoft !!!!!! People may laugh and go 'good, no more fooking IE' but the amount of systems around the work reliant on MS is pretty major.

just think how many jobs would be created in the IT sector as people would need to recode, migrate and support all the new software and OS's

it would go a long way to recovering the global economy

There isn't the frenzy in the media about house prices because a good chunk of the population bought before the boom so are sitting on the false sense of acomplishment with increased equity. I know for a fact my auntie & uncle who bought their 500k house in 1992 for 110k dont give a flying f*ck about how hard it is for first time buyers.

Even our generation weren't too worried until 100% mortgages were withdrawn.

To be fair, capitalism would have collapsed too if various governments hadn't come over all socialist and stepped in.

Sure, its not perfect, but when the whole frickin country is up in arms about immigration, dole bludgers, unneccessary/unjust welfare payments, union strike action and a lack of respect from an entire generation its probably not the best time to be advocating a return to socialism to me
In the circumstances, it's not a great time to be advocating capitalism either TBH

Neither system works without the checks and balances required to ensure moderation. It’d be nice to think we’ve learnt that lesson but I imagine the same was said in the 1930’s.

This thread has gone way off topic but IMO Hester should have got his bonus. No one will benefit when RBS becomes the next British Leyand
