Where to buy oil banjo bolt?

    I've managed to shear mine
Can anyone tell me where I can get one from and what size I need? I know the one i've sheared has a 16mm head...

Thanks to anyone who can help in this emergency!

Have been to Halfords and maplins but no luck, in fact the guy at Halfords said he'd never heard of a banjo bolt... Am I using the correct term?!

Have found a regular bolt that will plug the hole so now my question is can I drive the car off boost with that oil line plugged up? Would pretty much just be 10 mins of 30mph driving to reach a garage that would hopefully sell me a banjo bolt.

Has anyone bought something like this from a general car repair garage before? I know they're not a shop so worried they can't sell odd bits like this?

The turbo will still spin, don't drive it, you'll **** the bearings up in it.

It is a banjo bolt yes, that is the correct term. You need to find a local engineering shop or a hydraulics shop/supplier.

People have drilled bolts to get them out of trouble.

    I wouldn't, Just saying.

Any hydraulics company will keep them on the shelf normally.

Ok thanks, those types of stores don't sound like places that open Sundays
Really need to get hold of one tomorrow so I can take my car off my mates driveway and get home.

Have already attempted to 'make' a banjo bolt but gave up, might have to pursue that tomorrow morning...
Also found out that it's an M12x1.25 banjo bolt, so feel one step closer to sorting this. Is a local garage not likely to have a bunch of them on the shelves?

Standard oil banjo bolts are 17mm head, M12 bolt

I got some new ones from Nissan just before the new year and they were about £2 each, or cheap anyway, they got them in next day for me

You can also get the water banjos, 19mm head M14 bolt for like £1.30 each or something...

    This one:

£8.10 from Nissan, I don't have the part number at hand though. You got them for £2, Mark??

I highly doubt any non-specialist motor factors will sell them. I asked a couple of local garages when I was trying to find one for a friend but none of them had the correct size.

    Definately definately wasn't £8!!

I've got the receipt somewhere so will be able to check, it was definately £2-3 though!

Ill have a look now, I think i've still got the wrapper with the part number as well

This banjo has strange size, something about 10.65 mm. Maybe some inch size. I had problem with finding it. I bought it from Nissan for about 8Ł too.

    That part number sounds familiar.

Are Nissan allowed to charge different prices then?

Thanks for the confirmation on which bolt I need (although I have Driftworks braided lines so I think I should be able to get one from them hopefully). For now a mate helped me by drilling out a regular bolt at that size and i've driven home with no leaks or any other problems, just hope enough oil is flowing to the turbo.

Will get the replacement ordered asap, can't believe that such a little item is so damn rare!

Hose solutions sell pairs of banjos on their own as well although they are like £10 for 2 which is a rip off
