Forcing phone to use full desktop sites and not mobile versions ( andriod)

Just got a generic unbranded brand new Motorola xt910 ( amazing phone btw) so full flash support etc

One thing that’s annoying me, I can’t find an option to change it to not using mobile sites.

In my old desire there was a option to change it to “full” websites and can’t see the option anywhere.

Tried another browser ( firefox ) – Cant see an option there either.

    Cheers all

I've not been able to find that option either, most sites have a button you can press to take you to the main site but I didn't know there was a browser that'd auto-display them for you.

On my galaxy s2 you go onto the web, then press menu, more, settings, advanced settings, view mode.

within view mode you can select it to default to mobile or desktop versions of web pages, hope it works for you.

Dolphin Browser lets you set the user agent to a desktop browser, not a mobile one which will do what you want

The settings Big Mac is talking about are only in Dolphin as far as I'm aware especially for the S2

Dolphin HD is the best browser out of them anyways

my phone isnt running a custom rom, its a totally "standard" out the box s2, its just the default browser that came with the phone. You have to be on a web page in order to get to the browsers settings.

Same as on the default browser on the Desire -go to settings and you can check the option to always use mobile sites or leave it unchecked and it will go to the full site.

I've never understood what differences using different browers make, especially on a phone -they all look pretty much the same to me.

Im gonna swap for a sensation xe and go back to htc.

Too many compromises with this phone, shame as the handset is quite good in parts.

    put
    about:useragent
in the address box (delete http://) and the option is in there.

Not sure if you have to do it every time you reboot the phone, though.
