Hey All,

Just thought I'd give you an update on things. I got one of these turbo's a few months back and have just finally put the car back on the road.

Safe to say its awesome. I'm currently running this turbo on a NON-VVT 180sx Blacktop, with an H-Dev Mani (tomei copy) and full stainless exhaust. I have got it running on actuator pressure and it has been road mapped by Chris @ GI Motorsport I've grouped my feedback as follows:

The turbo spools amazingly. It has a very distinct whistle and it builds boost from the minute you depress the throttle. In 3rd and 4th I've found that between 2800rpm and 3000rpm I get around 0.5Bar, and by 3250-3500 it pulls up to 1Bar. The actuator is the only thing bringing on boost so when my profec B is fitted this will no doubt change. It is also amazingly smooth, it builds up and goes great, not like a punch in the back.

Power and Performance

When at full boost it pulls all the way to my set redline of 7250rpm. Comparing it to a few other local cars with 2871R's it is equal, if not slightly better at the top end of the rev range. When I get more boost more "tests" will be carried out. Due to being road mapped I have no dyno print outs as of yet.
Summary

Overall, if you want 2871R power with more low down response I cannot recommend this turbo enough.
