whats your windows index rating ????

the windows index rating rates your pc/laptop on processor ,ram ,graphics, gaming graphics and primary hard drive and can be found in computer then system properties.
the scores are from 1.0 to 7.9 and to start my scores are,
    processor...7.6
    ram...7.7
    graphics...7.8
    gaming graphics...7.8
    phd...7.5
the score takes your lowest one outta the lot as your base index score so mine is 7.5 outta 7.9
    whats yours?

Cant remember what my home pc is but its similar to the above, 7.6s or there abouts for cpu and memory with full scores for everything else (7.9s)

4ghz qx9650 with an unlocked and heavily clocked radion 9650(70) with raid SSD's.

My score is 7.9 for everything except the CPU.

Intel Core i5-2500 at standard clock speed
    4 x 2GB Kingston HyperX DDR3-1600 RAM
    OCZ Vertex III SSD drive
Radeon 6970 2GB GPU at standard clock speed

I must get around to trying to see what I can wring out of my system (I've got way more than adequate cooling ).

    EDIT : I made a mistake, I thought my RAM was 7.9 but it's 'only' 7.8. CPU is 7.5.

You cant get 7.9 with any current cpu apparently, even heavily overclocked.

I can't remember exactly what it all is but..

    Phenom II x6 @ stock 3.2ghz
    8GB of some corsair ram
    Corsair GT SSD
    MSI twin frozr 3 GTX570
and a corsair h60 I think to cool the CPU

Oh . I would have thought that one of the new 6-core Core-i7 chips might hit the magic number. Seems odd that Microsoft would have set that particular bar so high .

Seen reports of folk with 5.5ghz on a sandy still with 7.8, 6 core owners as well. Heck even multi socket builds still coming in at 7.8 or less.

Why do that though? The next Windows will be along before the CPU gets powerful enough to hit 7.9 Why not just up it for the next Windows?

On my work machine I get 5.0 due to the graphics card (only running a an ATi 4650)

    Other specs are:
    Q6600 @ 3.2GHz
3GB RAM (should be 4GB but haven't got round to putting in the 4th stick yet )
/Edit 3x160GB HDs in RAID 5 for Windows + 500GB for general data

Will have to update with my home machine specs as I can't for the life of me remember what it is.

    5.5 Due to RAM.

If I had better RAM it would be a 6.

The annoying thing is, this PC cost me £1800 5 years ago, and is now a complete peice of crap

    5.2

This is slightly skewed though as I'm too pikey to upgrade my SATA2 hdd's

    Full version is:
    processor...7.3
    ram...7.3
    graphics...7.7
    gaming graphics...7.7
    phd...5.2

Everything runs a treat, I'm just that bit more patient while loading

5.5 as I've only got 2 gig of ram . Otherwise it'd be a 6.0 because of the graphics card which should be waaay higher as it's a 6970..... Guess it would benefit with the RAM upgrade too .

That card in my system scores 7.9 so unless you're running Vista (which maxes at 5.9) then yeah, something is holding back its score .
