    odd insurance question

    not for me but my lady friend, is there any way of telling who she was insured with a year back without use of her old policy documents as shes thrown them and cant find bank statements pertaining to the time she was insured and shes deleted all her emails about it and im all oout of ideas as she needs proof of her ncb for her insurance on the vx, any ideas much appreciated.

    Yes. Do a Data Subject Access Request with the Motor Insurers Bureau in respect of the Motor Insurance Database (MID).

    Contact them first to establish what their retention policy is. e.g. if they retain policy data for 6 years, then that's what they have to show you. If for some reason it's only 1 year, or for live policies then the DSAR won't pull the info need.

    Will cost no more than £10 for the request by law.
