What happened to all the cheap s13's ???

As above really, i remember only a year or 2 ago the for sale section used to be filled with s13's for under £1000 in decent condition !

now its hard to find one under 3k with tax and mot and hardly any mods, any i have seen around the 1k mark have been complete buckets or need new engines ! even at that your lucky if there are more than 10 for sale, seems to be all s14's now !!

Rust, people crashing them into walls, even more rust, even more people trying to drift it and killing it by doing so, and last but not least, rust.

dont see the point in scrapping them all due to blown engines and rust, all it takes is a rebuild or a welder and thats them sorted !

Like said, they where cheap. Buy one for a grand, it pops, easier just to buy another one then to repair it, or some people would buy another to break for parts to keep the other on the road. They werent exactly common so now there isnt many left as they where considered disposable.

They are slowly being killed by rust mate.......just like s14s and s14a's shit seam sealant and lack of underseal from the factory combined with a poor runaway water design and salted roads leads to them rusting from the inside out

I bought the last auto. In TK3, 78k. Started and ran beautifully even with a dead turbo. £650.

Now it's my pride and joy running all my hand built gadgets and stage 3.

2011 Q3 843 left on road. 818 Sorn, 1/2 of those are scrap awaiting sentence.
    total 1651.

    Q2 - Q3, 52 less on road, 97 fewer.
    Q4 2010 - Q3 2011, 98 less on road, 175 in total.

More to come for full year when Q4 results come in. It's going to be well over 200 down. Possibly less than 800 left on road now and under 1600 total.

    2011 Q2 895 sorn 853, total 1748
    2010 Q4 941 sorn 885, total 1826

Save the engine, dash, steering rack, loom, lights. Get a rust free 240SX from California, convert it to RHD turbo.

81 Corolla GT / GT coupe left on road, 230 total. RS13 will be down to this number in about 6-8 years. Then they will be £10k a go.

Is the SX particularly well suited under the scrappage scheme?

I see fewer SXes for sale.

The LHD market has all but dried up. All the German / Swiss SXes seem to have gone to Norway or Poland. No cheapos left, unless they have severe issues.

How about the grey import market?

There is no grey import. Grey import is getting a RHD UK car from a European dealer or a JDM car before or while the car is for sale new in UK.

i have a perfect rust free s13 but i sorn it every winter to save myself from crashing it, i will never sell my s13 in my lifetime, and i can honestly say i will never let the rust get hold if it.

a good restoration will easl last 10 years but at that point you do need to look at stripping it down and re sealing it again. which is my plan to have done by the end 2013...
