    Tube Drivers

If I have heard this right, they negotiated a cushty pay deal as it included them having to work on boxing day and now they are threatening to go on strike unless they get paid even more

    Honestly - W....T.....F

There must be loads of unemployed people who would happily sit in a cab and press a fooking button for £40k a year

Should automate the whole system. Or hire some of those just graduated pilots on $20k/year from the Michael Moore documentary.

    To be increased to £52K...

Bob Crow is not worthless to them.... until they automate the underground... thus losing all their jobs and they only have them selves to blame....

Computers don't go on strike or demand extra pay

Working on Boxing day isn't exactly a big deal -and I'll bet they're getting paid extra for it

95% of them can't even operate a tube train properly. The power isn't a switch with just on & off written on it

Bunch of cnuts the lot of them.

Police, Nurse, Fireman work xmas day and earn less than a tube driver working boxing day. Where's the logic in that.

Because some people don't know how good they have it

When you're union is chatting on about how you need more pay etc encouraging you to stay at home, rather than go out and do your job -it probably doesn't help either.

I may have been subjected to it this morning yes.
    Expect angry texts later!

There isn't any. They are a greedy bunch of spoilt children, who have had it WAY too easy for too long now.
I think they genuinely believe they are entitled to the increased wage.

Tube drivers are overpaid greedy ****s, whoever negotiates their pay deal is a ****ing hero, the man must have a silver tongue.

They voted to strike because the government refused their demands which were:

Triple pay plus a days leave for working bank holiday. Triple pay on a 50K salary is stupid money, tube drivers need to be hounded by the press like the bankers are.

South Korea's entire tube network is automated, we desperately need something like that here - I bet theirs doesn't **** everyone off on bank holiday or other large public holidays.

It's a damn joke and it's going to inconvenience thousands of people for their greed. Triple pay as well as a day off! They get a ton of leave anyway. Bob Crow can do one too, doesn't he still live in a housing associating place thanks to lifetime tenancy? Man of the people.

In regard to the pay rise...

"This deal enables our employees' salaries to keep pace with the cost of living whilst being realistic given the current economic situation and the pressure on Transport for London's finances."

Cost of living lol, I'd live pretty bloody well on £52k a year.

Haha, London is bad, but not *that bad.

Plus I know tube drivers that commute. I live in MK and London Euston is in easy reach, less than an hour on the train.
