Hey Guys
I'm pleased to announce that Dandan has entrusted me to carry out some work on his RX7, So I'll be adding some updates to this thread as I plod along.
The general plan is going to be an Engine Bay Shave and Tuck, and an overhaul of the Underside and Suspension components.
It's quite open at the moment, But it should be Very Clean, Very Tidy and Very White.
A quick look at how it started and the subsequent breakdown.
Basically going to remove all the elements I'm not happy with, then plan out and tackle each one in turn.
Removed the Air Separator tank and Overflow.
Removed the Windscreen Washer system.
Pipework.
This lot will be re-located elsewhere.
Binning the Auxiliary Earth's.
Proceeded to remove the ABS System.
And it's associated Wiring.

Ok i'm scared.
That reminds me I must get you an electric P/S pump, i'll get right on that.
More pictures!!
Yeah me too.
I'm not sure if you have something in mind or if there is one popular for use on the RX7, But it needs to be a remote unit, Not one built into the Steering Column.
I think the Vauxhall one's may be suitable, from something like a Corsa, I know it's blasphemy but I'm not sure of a Japanese equivalent.
I'll leave it in your capable hands, Cheers dude.
Inlet Manifold removed.
Power Steering system removed.
The Ignition Amp will be going elsewhere.
Removed the Wiper Motor for now, As I have Idea's for this.
Made a start planning the Wire Tuck.
I have no knowledge of RX7's or Rotary Engine's, But I'm reasonably sure these are the Headlight Retract Relays ?
Moving them from the Bay Turret cleans up the look of that area hugely.
The plan is to re-locate them within the Headlight recess, which I've found to be quite a clean, dry area.
Utilised the original mounting bracket to make a custom bracket.
Prepared the area and added some mounting fixings.
All mounted up.
I'll neaten the wiring later.
The service manuals and wiring diagrams are readily available on the net.
^^this, I think there is a link to the wiring diagrams on that email of useful info I sent you, if not they are pretty easy to find on the t'interweb. I'm not sure what those relays are for personally.
All looks good so far!
I've been told a Citroen Saxo pump is pretty good, and quite small so i'll hunt one down asap.
As i understand it, it is a bit detrimental to steering feel, but that p/s pump is just such an eyesore, it has to go! form>function for me in this case, stupid really, but it's my car and that's what I want
Many likes!
And again, I urge you not to go Saxo/106 dude, I really don't like mine
Simialr to wha tI did with the relays, except you have done it neatly, and with welding, whereas I just did it with bodgery and metal bending
Very interested to see what you do with the wiper - it's a huge bugbear of mine!
Shame you have to resort to an electric pump. Rather have an arm off personally but to each his own!
Thanks guys, I've got some Manuals somewhere, just didn't have them to hand at the time.
I believe certain years of the Corsa B had a remote unit, as well as some Vectra's, Astra's and Zafira's.
Are any of the Japanese built Unit any good, like the one's on a Toyota MR2 ?
I imagine they will be quieter and a damn site more reliable.
Remainder of the Brake System out.
Removed the Interior.
Christ, you work fast
Top banana
oh sweet jesus on a bike! scary stuff...
