cracked spoke
h there,
i baught a set of rota grid drift rims from you over a year ago and i noticed yesterday morning that one of the spokes of the wheel is completely split clean in 2.
also the other side had split where the bead seats in the inside of the wheel.
could you replace the cracked spoked wheel please.
thanks

Hi Roy
Can you send me some pics - as you're a tyre place, ideally without the tyre on please?
ben@rarerims.co.uk is the best way.
Cheers
Ben

I'd like pics of the whole wheel, and the damage please, from a few angles.
Our wheels dont crack for no reason - it'll be a result of impact damage of some sort I am afraid.
We have seen cracked wheels before, sent them away for 3rd party testing and they're always structurally and materially fine, it's just usually a result of an impact or similar, often coupled with stretched or low pressure tyres.

I think we're about sorted
If somebody has damage it's no problem to supply single wheels, we dont insist on selling as sets.
Also, if you're honest about damage and circumstances etc as Roy is, it's likely to cost less due to us having sympathy, and in my case a car that's always going wrong - so I know how you feel when stuff gets broken!

sorted on your end, just need to check funds on my end tonight (christmas argghh)
it has had slight curb rub i will admit but the enquiry of one wheel was the point, thought you had to get axle sets.
thanks for clearing it all up.

Out of interest what's the warranty on Rota wheels?
-
South West Rep
12 months on finish and manufacturing and materials, basically if in a year it goes wrong for any reason not related to it being hit into something, powder coated or similar then we'll honour a warranty claim

To rare rims..... Do you no a good place that repairs alloy wheels that have got impact damage? Or do you do it?
Thanks

We actually wouldn't really recommend repairing a cracked or bent wheel, the processes generally dont bring it back to 100%
A little bit of rubbing down of kerb damage is one thing, but if you've hit it hard enough to crack it I wouldn't want it back on the road on my own car certainly.
This goes for any alloy, it's pretty common to weld them up and stuff, but not really a long-term or very advisable solution I am afraid.
