thought i would sign up and start getting some info together before buying a 200!
always wanted one but insurance hasnt been on my side, in march '12 i'll have 4 years no claims so should be okay
ive got a budget of about £2600ish
would prefer a 14/14a over a 13
is it possible to get a reasonable spec s14/14a for that sorta ££?
oh another thing - do all 14's have lsd?

A that sort of price I'd be going by condition rather than what mods i has tbh. A lot of these cars are sage 1 anyway which means they shift along ok
Check for rust on the sill's inner arches and up inbehind the rear bumper for starters
It's also worth checking out the "useful threads" thread at the top of the s14 technical section and especially the buyers guide

so stage one on a s14 is what? about 250ish?
i was just looking up prices to get it up to spec and it costs a fair bit! so was thinking would be easier to get one with them on already?
yeah i know about the rust, my mate had rust on strut towers etc!
Should be a bit more than 250
It'll be definately be cheaper to buy one with the mods fitted but I wouldn't sacrifice mods for a good base car if that makes sense

what sort of mileage these good for? as alot of them have 100k+
As long as they are looked after the engines are good for many miles. Most cars have over 100k now with a lot approaching 200k

Hi man and welcome, good choice 14a i love em. I just got a black 14a with 66000 for 2150. So they are out there, mine was standard though (for about ten min) haha, if you buy parts second hand from here you can get to stage 1a for about 500 quid as i did. Good luck man.

been offered a 200sx s13, blue, 50mm rear overfenders, rota 18x8 white wheels, walboro fuel pump, 180sx brakes,skyline airflow meter and cone filter, 6inch exhaust, t28 turbo, s14 bottom arms, LSD fitted, and gauges inside,
got 154 on the clock
12 months mot
no tax
some surface rust on strut tops
and rust hole in front wing
£600?
is it worth it...

yeah suppose if you buy the bits used instead of all new then your in the money!
Have you seen it as that sounds very very cheap
It has 12 months ticket so if you can afford to fix it if it breaks then go for it

thats what i thought and yeah he said he bought them for £500!
needs a full respray reallythough - by the time ive changed the wing and that :/ and the overfenders being diff colour
