Hi all - Newbie from birmingham

Hi everyone! My name is Nicky, im 27 from rednal in birmingham. Im good mates with a member on here (richie200sx) and I am looking at getting a S14 a next year. I havent driven a RWD car before, but I can imagine the amount of fun that can be had in one! lol

As Im sure some of you are aware from my username, I am a fan of the MG Metro 6R4. I run a site on them 6r4.net and also have a video channel 6r4net

I am extremely lucky to have a friend that owns one, and lets me drive it on demonstration runs at events. Its his pride and joy so I dont do anything silly in it, much to the annoyance of some spectators but oh well lol Heres a pic of me with my mate Gary with his 6R4.

Welcome aboard. Anyone who is a fan of the 6R4 is more than welcome on here!! Its my dad's all time favourite car. He got a run in one about 20 years ago and still harps on about it. Nothing better sounding than a 6R4 hoofing through a forest!!! The Quattro is close but no v6

S-Body's are like an amazing girlfriend, when they want to, they are the best thing in the world, then ever so often they become a huffy bitch and you wanna boot them up and down

When they came out the factory yes. When rover was selling them off at 13k when group b was banned, some people who couldnt afford the costs associated with the v64v went for the rover v8 which is basically a straight swap in the back. As nice as a V8 sounds, a 6R4 doesnt sound right if its not got a v6

What some people are doing the last few years is putting the 2.5 or 3 litre jag v6 engine in. Another friend of mine has a 3 litre jag in the back and has a 6 speed sequential gearbox.

Many thanks for the welcome everyone look forward to meeting some of you at shows or meets when I get my S14. Just curious, what would be the benefits of having a S13 over a S14 in your opinions?

I grew up watching Gollop race Schanche.... can't beat a twin tub V6 in my eyes.

S13 over S14, easy. Looks, slightly crisper handling after you dial out the slight understeer and looks

Welcome nug, I'd have to say get a 13 over a 14. Haven't regretted getting mine once, your more than welcome to take it for a quick drive or I can take you out in it?

Some pro's. . . pop up headlights, lighter than the 14, more parts available, better dash (ask rich lol)
