Hanspree, anyone got the later model. Apparently easily rooted and for 150. Better then the vega due to its better screen.
There are some good reviews and user guides on youtube too
bumping this as this bargain cropped up.
The latest Archos tablet, running the new honeycomb 3.2 OS is £270 on Amazon

The same chip is supposed to be good for 1.5Ghz so no doubt the aftermarket modders will have a field day with this little tab.
I had an advent vega, outta the box it was shot, modaco custom rom and it was a proper toy, and can be clocked happily to 1.5ghz and still be very stable,
Would highly reomend one if you ccan find one, as they do sell like hot cakes, im currently running a Motorola XOOM, great piece of kit out the box, and curry had it on offer for 329, and I ended up getting it for 275just buy asking the manager what sort a deal they could do if I was taking it away today lol,
Archos 101 purchased from eBay Hopefully it'll be good!
Another one ending soon here:

Expect the Asus Transformer to take a huge hit in price soon - the Transformer 2/Prime is out before Christmas and pretty much annihilates any other tab - quad core and 12hr+ battery life. The Xoom 2 will also be out soon - older stuff will have the bejeezus discounted out of it...
Anyone been taking a look at the new tablets in the £400 and under region?
Currently I am looking at the following:
Asus eeePad
Motorola Xoom 2 10.1 (when its out)
Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1
I found the Sony tablet feels cheaply made around the sides...
What I am looking for is a tablet that has 10.1 screen but I haven't been paying much attention to the tech. 1 day battery usage is fine for me. Preferably 32GB but can live with 16GB.
Seeee....I don't need the keyboard dock just the pad lol Always like Asus stuff but recently been swaying towards samsung...having the tv and monitor and all...
I tried an Archos in a shop today, the one I've got on the way from the dreaded eBay.
Sure, it's no ipad or galaxy tab, but it's going to be plenty for the job I have in mind
Advent Vega would be a good option, you can get them for £200 from Currys etc and you can install 3.2 on them.
£388 brand new at Amazon

Would be interested to hear how you get on with the Archos 101 EvilChap, although to be fair, the G9 101 looks pretty good for £270.
I'm tempted to hold out to see how far the Asus Transformer prices drop, the official price has been dropped to £300 for the 16GB model, Amazon did have it for £280, but have put the price up again. Shame the dock/keyboard costs an extra £100 though.
I'm tempted by one, but whatever I got would have to be a worthwhile improvement over my SGS2 otherwise I may as well just use that, and put up with a smaller screen!
Just seen HMV have the Archos G9 101 for £250 delivered:

Tempting at that price, even if it is a bit cheaper feeling that say a Transformer. Think I'll be hitting the shops this weekend to take a look.
I went into HMV played with the Transformer and have to say, I thought it was OK...but that's it. I was more impressed with the Samsung offering instead which I was surprised...I always dismissed their tablets but I am leaning towards them now.
I've used a Samsung galaxy tab 10.1 and thought it was great. Basically a large sgs2, but screen was excellent and it seemed pretty fast.
The new version of the Transformer is due out pretty soon, I've heard pre Xmas and its supposed to be absolutely brilliant but will be in the £400+ price range
I read this morning that the Prime will be pre-xmas for the US, but likely January 2012 for us
I love the way our price is oftens the same as the US, i.e. $499 = £499, why can't fe have a fair price based on exchange rate
