I forgot to add that the test drive was a success. It fired straight up on the first turn, lovely. It idled at about 2.2k rpm for a while and the oil pressure was almost at the top of the gauge, a little worrying. Then the exhaust wrap started smoking like a camp fire!?! My nosey neighbour must've been well impressed Once I rolled her out the garage though the revs lowered and the oil pressure dropped back down. All my gauges were telling me everything was fine and nothing was leaking, excellent!
After finding myself a new ramp (an old door that was sat on top of the shed. My previous ramp (a table tennis table top) was thrown out by my gardener) I managed to get the car off the driveway and off down the road to my friendly Shell garage. The car drove fine but in these damp/greasy conditions the RSR's had no grip at all. After a good warm up I gave the throttle a blip and 1.5 bar was seen . The car didn't move very far though as the tyres spun as soon as the boost came on. The nasty screamer's horrid and it needs a little tuneup but I'm pretty happy it's running again.
Next up is to get the, pads changed, the exhaust fixed, the new wheels on and vinyl applied. Then, when the weathers a little better, it's up to Cambridge for an MB Auto retune
Looking good!
Is the PAS bottol going to be ok where it is? Don't want it melting when your on track.
my pas was situated here with the same setup as what lee is running and never had any melting issues so should be fine
PAS fluid does get a bit bubbly but I'm not sure it'll melt. Had a shield on it for a while and seemed to make naff all difference, fluid still bubbled. It's done a fair few days without exploding and my bay should be cooler now thanks to some extra mods so I think it'll be ok.
yeah mine got a little bubbly from time to time lol. moved mine for peace of mind now
If move the ps reservoir after seeing kens v8 on fire at the weekender due to this very problem.

Oh fair enough guys
tbh the screamers are very loud with the greddy tdo6 setups. probably due to the screamer pipe only being a few inches long.
And to be fair a 1.2 Clio with a big bore exhaust is loud in the dartford tunnel
Carbolook conversion hoses orded from Hel Performance. Managed to score a cheeky 10% discount so a deserved shout out to them. Having just had a quote from Brake Caliper Specialists of £650 for the calipers to be refurbed, the discount on the lines has taken the sting out of it a little I'm waiting to hear if their boss is feeling the NY generosity and is willing to lower the price a little. When these brakes go back on fully refurbed, painted, new lines and fluid I'm not going to be happy if my face doesn't hit the windscreen on the first application.
Anyone have any other suggestions for brake specialists?
