Was a pleasure meeting you to good sir. No, unfortunately we ran out of time, but the ABS is gone and the brakes feel fine. Will hopefully sort the leak tomorrow now I know where it is.

To be perfectly honest I never found having the ABS a problem. I had no issues tracking with it. The main reason I removed it is it sat too close to my turbo and therefore absorbed far too much heat, not good. Plus it stopped working a year ago and I didn't really miss it. So removing the pump made sense. Brake pedal feels like it's moving a little more than before but I've only driven it 6 miles home so it may improve. With the GTR servo and BMC the pedals always felt very sharp.

Cool. I merely ask for others i know wishing to remove. Ive never had it on mine so dnt know how drastic the change would be.

I presume uve not had any issues on road either?

I think one of the skyline bmcs was without abs and thats what i use if that would make a difference to pedal feel? My brakes are v sharp and feel v solid (almost not enough movement lol)

Blaktooth do you have any pictures of what you used to remove the ABS?

Does any body have a diagram of how the lines should go when you remove the ABS?

This i have two ports on the BMC, so does the front port go to one front wheel and one rear etc. Or does the front port just split off to the front wheels and you then just run the other port to the back?

(I have done a little search but couldn't find the answer)

It is a Greddy mani. Not impressed, quality is shocking. Must be the 3rd or 4th time I've had it welded. Think I'm going to purchase a 6Boost.

The reason that's broken is because of poor welding. The welds are sat on top of the steel rather than penetrating right through.
It should never crack right in the middle of a weld like that.

If it were me. And I have done this on my manifold. I'd mig the manifold with nice big heavy welds. Mine was like that for a year with no issues at all. Took it off recently and still no cracks. And it's just an eBay special

Got my hands dirty tonight. So much easier to get to the turbo with the ABS removed.

    Moody garage shot.
