Nah, nout wrong with a small insurance rant
So many threads appearing that one certain insurer was really high and cant understand why hoping the rep will come along and fondle their balls with a discount. Its irritating.

Ill go play in the corner.

Because most people don't understand all the details behind the quote they've been given -pick up the phone and ask and it will probably make sense

    Maybe

4k is actually probably pretty close to the right technical price.

i cant understand why insurance companies just say when you put the car in and your age that you have to be x age to have the a quote under x amount for example, its annoying when you go through a quote and it takes time filling stuff out then it come up with some stupid price is all.
    Rant over.

When I was 19 had my teg type r £1200 tpft
    When i was 20 r33 gtst £1500
    When I was 21 s14 £750
Dropped £50 per year near enough not insured it for two years though, this was all with flux! Then I got a 1800cc escort 55 van rang up trust cheap flux they wanted £1000 n reg van this was last year when i was 24! Then I rang about an rx8 tpft £800 not bad I thought but the chap was a Cnut on the phone to me, so first time ever rang sky £750 they quoted me I was pleased until kevin from sky finished his sentence with that's fully comp!!! I nearly jizzed

Insurance companies in general seem to face a conflict to cut costs by using web based sales rather than extensive use of call centers. Yet they seem to lose some business due to wildly high quotes without being able to explain why due to the lack of personal contact throughout the sales process.

The web offers a possible price to the customer that sometimes won't be aligned with the back end policy writing systems so it might not be the true price or consulted all the possible underwriters. Sometimes the broker would need to ring the underwriter to gain a quote that they won't generate for the web. There's so many factors to consider, so as said before, ring

    Hi,

I'm afraid a quotation of £4000 indicates you do not meet out criteria.

Indeed, it's a screen rate which I' sure you've guessed arry.

Would this mean the OP wouldn't be able to take out the insurance even if they accepted the £4000? or is it more that there would be a more than health profit in it if they did as there not your target customer?

If we quoted the £4000, this is a valid price.

Underwriters have different terms, not as simple as a yes or no.

Sure it's the lowest price? Enough confidence in the systems to know 100% that it's just a screen rate. Don't want to clarify the details surrounding the quote for him?
Want to look at why this a high quote? Any offer to see if it's possible to match the other flux quote?

    OP, computer says no

There must be another underlying factor, I am the same age as the OP and same NCB except I have 6points from 4 years ago, and mine is £1500 this year through Sky

Cheers for the reply, I understand roughly why its high but as above, how can sky have one price and Adrian flux another with such a great void in price difference. Sorry to anybody who.got annoyed by the fact I was curious, didn't have to comment or look at the thread and its a public forum.

Once again cheers for getting back to me and for giving me an explanation. Il pm a mod to close/delete now to stop any further aggrevation

This is what your customers are really unhappy about Ollie.. you just don't offer them the full service that you used to!
