    DB-Power Swiss Army Strut Brace

    Hi Guys

I'm currently going ahead with the strut brace that i made a while ago, have revamped it slightly though.

The strut brace isn't like any you have seen for your 200's, it's not made of cheese for a start. This strut brace will actually perform it's task outstandingly and not flex or bend like many on the market.

I am planning a few little perks which will be add ones so to speak those being:-

    BMC stopper
    Engine Damper
and hopefully struts for your bonnet

They will be electro plated for the chrome look, and have DB-Power engraved on the main beam.

I'll try and upload some pic later/tomorrow of the 1st sample

    Dan

    Ooh! Sounds interesting!

Wasn't there one brace that also doubled as an oil catch can? Or did I make that up? If I did, I'm claiming the proceeds from the idea

I meant that the whole brace section could be made bigger than normal (as many are round tubing anyway) with take-offs for the hoses normally plumbed into the catch can.

Edit: A quick google yields no results... Maybe I dreamt it up but I see no reason why it wouldn't work. A larger-than-normal diameter tube for that actual brace with threaded inserts for aeroquip hose connectors. You could have the intake on the turbo/passenger side and the vent/recirc one on the other side. Possibly won't be as cool as having the catch can up front by the air filter (where mine was) but it would be to actually have a combined brace and can!

woud that not be a nightmare to clean out? IIRC Dan wanted to make this a 1 piece welded assembly, that was built to tollerance and fitted

I remember seeing one that went over the rad cowling instead of the intercooler cold pipe. That might be where the idea sprang from.

aaronledwidge: Do people ever clean out their cans? I never have in almost 5 years... Anyway, it would be easy enough to unbolt the strut mounts, unscrew the inserts and flush it out.

Not too sure to be honest I had assumed they did it will eventually get to the point where you will need to, i know some drifters etc fill them in a track day, but then they probably have pretty buggered engines.
