I'm going to guess at a worse penalty for not excepting a fixed penalty and fine.

Yeah, but i wasn't drifting, car just stepped out, They never took it any further... Was a big black old bmw E32 with a v8 auto.. not really going to stand up in court as a drifter.. if i was in my 180sx Kouki with 400bhp ripping around i would hve been sent down without trail lol.

I've never drifting on the road since that night because the possibly of loosing my license scared me that much!!

Proud to held a driving license for 10 years now, never had any points, or convictions, 8 years NCB Any i'm mostly more crazy then most people behind a wheel then most people here... My trick is keep it for that track

Can be downgraded over here, mate passed a car on a wet road and put the foot down a touch too hard, when the wheel hit the white line it went a bit wide, nothin dramatic just a wee flick which was quickly and easily sorted, his girlfriend was behind him and behind her was a cop, cop seen this and near took the girlfriend out to get to him, tried to do him for dangerous but the judge dropped it to careless

... Actually just remembered the cop cautioned him for careless while doing him so that's probly why :/

Really feel sorry for you bud tbh people get lesser sentences for doing a lot worse A mate of mine only got a 12 month ban for being well over the limit and overtaking a police car in a 30.

Im sorry but I really dont see how cheeky late nights skids is endangering anyone if you can see all exits and there is no other traffic around its safer than taking the roundabout at speed as doc said, besides, anyone doing it should have a few point men checking sliproads anyways

The biggest lesson here is dont ever stop for police on your own accord, wait for them to pull you.....unless they are community support in which case dont stop at all

Tbh I have had a couple of run ins with cambs police and they have been fine, even praised us for doing it out the way of the houses and main roads

Looking on Wiki, it would seem that PCSO's do have the power to stop vehicles "for testing"

There is a chap in wales who got caught doing something tiny in terms of drifting, he came clean, admitted everything, and got a 2 year ban. I think he's a BDC driver?

Only evidence was his own statement.

Same has happened here. Solution to this is to plead innocence, nicely, and fight whatever (little) evidence they collect.

Hmm, hate to doubt the lad's story but it does seem kinda fishy to me too.

Was it 1.5 times round the roundabout, or did it just step out?

Is it the case that the first post was talking up his mad drifting skillz, whereas in actual fact it was a little farty slide? Or was it a full on drift around the roundabout and he's trying to talk it down now for sympathy?

Either way, I think the sentence is a bit OTT. I don't mess on the roads anymore after being cautioned more than once, but it's almost a rite of passage you go through between 18-25! THen you get caught, get some sort of punishment, and you cop on.

Oh, and never admit guilt if you are pulled, & always play dumb when stopped! "I was going HOW fast?!" etc...

Well personally i think its a little too harsh IMO as a person who i used to call a friend was out one night on a r6 with a tinted visor racing another motorbike, he undertook a moped which granted for some beknown reason was in the outside lane on the dual carridge way only to find the moped was moving in to let them pass. He hit the moped and they both came off both bikes were written off, the r6 driver was a little shaken and the moped driver was killed.

long story short the guy on the moped was 18 and was no more and the r6 driver was banned for a year for undue care.

3 days before his court hearing he borrowed an r1 and done well over 140!

he now acts like nothing has happened and he lied his way though court saying he wasnt racing and that he had a clear visor not tinted.

that is why i say it seems a bit harsh, but on that note there is always a time and a place!

I suppose by that argument you could say, its a harsh punishment and so is being done for assault, when you consider tha OJ Simpson murdered his wife and got off with no punishment
