    If we're talking a 7 type kitcar then you don't need one if you get the correctly rated trailor

    I don't have a trailor licence and towed the Westfield about perfectly legally for years

    As long as the Trailors MAM is under the max towing weight of an S14 (About 1600-1800kgs I think?) then you should be good to go.
    Although you need to make sure that your S14's max loaded weight + the trailors MAM are less than 3500kgs aswell

    Search through the various towing threads on here (I posted in most of them when I had the Westy) or on the DVLA website for the proper rules - the above is from memory so could be wrong
