Hi Guys
Thought I would offer you an ultimate refurbishment plan for your S14 Front Calipers, by using Stainless Steel Pistons.
The caliper rebuild process:-
Caliper is shot blasted back to bare metal
Sprayed to the colour of your choice
New internal seals are inserted
8 x DB-Power Stainless Steel Pistons are inserted
New Dust seals and securing rings installed
New Bleed Valve
The main item of change are the Stainless Steel pistons.
Why Stainless Steel?
The main 2 benefits from Stainless steel pistons are:-
Rust- Stainless Steel Piston do not rust, so these are a piston for life and seeing as 99% of the failed calipers I see are due to a bad piston, you can pretty much guarantee these calipers will be a caliper for life
Heat Transfer- Stainless Steel doesn't heat up as much as normal mild steel/cast pistons, this therefore reduces the heat of your brake fluid, meaning the brake fluid can keep it's fluid density even in extreme conditions.
How the stainless Steel pistons are made:-
The stainless Steel Pistons are produced by the following sequences:-
Stainless Steel Round Bar is parted.
Each Stainless Steel length is then machined out (hollowed for weight saving), and the Dust seal groove is machined.
They then get sent away to be ground and polished, this ensures that the piston has the best possible seal on the internal caliper seal.
The piston comes back and gets digitally measured to ensure accuracy.
How Much?
The calipers would set you back £220 a pair on exchange (£50 surcharge chargeable).
For that £220 you are getting a fresh pair of calipers which are massively better than when your 200SX rolled out of the production line.
Interested in buying the pistons alone?
If you want to try a save a few £££ then I can supply the seal kits and the stainless steel pistons alone
Seal kits would be £19ea
Stainless Steel Pistons £28ea
If you have any questions then please don't hesitate to ask
