    Dolomite Sprint CA18DET Project.

    Well everyone -

Time to make this car a car i guess-

The dolomite has had years of time and effort put into it but its not right - The engine however great it sounds is unreliable BL tat and simply im bored of waiting for it to break.

I love the s13 - I love my dolomite- Whats better - FIGHT - sorry - Lets combine the two - I love the dolomite's complete and utter ease at how cool retro it looks. I love the fact its my first car and ive owned it 8 years and counting

I hate the fact its ripped my heart out and stamped on it more than once

But this thing seriously has a soul, be it a 37 year old workshy brummie soul..

I went and picked it up today and drove it home its been slumming it in a council lock up on the worst estate in the area fully demobilized and looking SO sad

New battery - FIRST TIME FIRES UP And now its home !

So the start of something awesome.

    Ingredients

Take one SAD stolen recovered s13

Take one mentalist bonkers lanky slaphead up for a challenge

    Plans

    Strip Interior
    MOT and Tax it
Drive it Dan in Hemel using hopes and dreams.
    Engine out
Dan to work magic and shoehorn Ca and gearbox into car.
    Various upgrades

    Back to mine
    Engine back out
Proper respray in original brook-lands green
Then to auto trim for new vinyl roof and headlining ££££

    Then where ?

    SXOC WEEKENDER 2012 of course

The car itself is an excellent base . No real rot - Fully uprated suspension and bushing so its good to go otherwise

Aim is original looking car with modern mechanical's

I will keep this thread with the help of dan updated with pics and vids of work ongoing on the car ready for my end goal of the sxoc weekender

    Thanks all

    Awesome.

My earliest memory of car stuff is watching my old man tidy up a dolly that he had for a while, I used to love sitting in it and pretending to drive that old school car smell still makes me feel like a kid now whenever I catch a whiff of it

Just make sure your project doesn't catch 'Dan' and thus never get finished

Are you planning on doing anything with the interior? IE retro bucket seats etc?

    Deacs,

Hav you seen the pics of Jim's (alfaholical's) Alfa interior?

It's the perfect blend of modern and retro, that sort of style would be epic in the Dolly
