    Thumbs down Poor Effort

Sky get a lot of good reviews on here, so i thought i'd give them a try.

Called at about 3pm and was on hold for nearly 10 minutes, with being at work i thought i'd try again when i got home. So i called them again, a guy answered that must have been mid way through a conversation and was giggling when he picked up.... wasn't very professional. Anyway so he asks where i had heard of them, i said SXOC and i was glad to hear that i would get a discount for being a member, i thought i was in luck. We go though some details, then i'm told they can't cover me
I'm told that as i live in Birmingham, and my postcode begins with a B my car must be kept in a garage or car park that is locked with a gate and key fob
I've had a fair few insurance quotes over the years, not once have i been declined for insurance for this reason, seems a bit to me.

What is wrong with insurance companies these days

What's wrong with them is they like to make a fair chunk of money, and I guess the theft risk in Birmingham is so high they've moved away from it. Move to the sticks

I've been with Sky for three years and live in Birmingham. Significantly cheaper than other companies. Never heard of those clauses before. Seems strange to me.

Maybe. Not too sure. Well if it does I'm sure my renewal will speak volumes when it cones through next month.

Richie if you've been with them a while claim free then they may just keep insuring you even if the terms have changed I remember when Aviva told me they don't do 200sx's for under 25s, but because of 4 years business with them, I got a great price at 21..

£649 on a stage 2 s14a with 5 years NCB. Adrian Flux quoted me more or less but didn't want to chop and change brokers. Location does play a big part I'd imagine, but it's becoming a bit of a joke now. A friend of mine, his renewal tripled with no claims throughout the year!

Yeah. It came down from just over £700 the year before. Got my renewal in December, by the looks of it, might be in for a shock.

I live about 7 miles from stratford upon avon in a small and exceedingly quiet village, due to still having a birmingham postcode I can only get tpft with sky... even though 1 mile from my house the postcodes become CV....

Was the same for me - had to be garaged (E11 postcode) but given that the area is a craphole I don't blame them

Thanks for the reply, however it didn't feel like my 'case' was looked at, i only gave my name, model of car and postcode. Those terms do seem a bit extreme imo.
No worries, i'll just carry on paying my current provider an extortionate amount of cash......

Did you catch the name of the underwriter?

I insured through Sky last year no problems with a B postcode, odd.
