Yes, yes it is They were my tyres, and I wanted to use every bit of them, even the sidewall

if you want one, do it, but buy carefully. Good ones are great, poor ones are expensive

Sounds good Deac, I'm still loving my 182 a couple of months on.

God knows how you manage 40-45mpg though, on a mixed run I got 38mpg, could probably get more on a long motorway run, but daily average is about 32.5mpg at the mo. Must be the full fatness!!!

Clouder - coming from someone who has a 182 FF and a 330ci, I'd say have a good drive of a 330D before making your mind up. Very different cars, love both for different reasons, but for out & out driving pleasure I'd say the 182 is more rewarding. The 330 is a nice car, quality build, nice to drive and torquey, but even with sharp turn in and firm ride, it still feels a lot less balanced in the bends compared to the 182. Then again you wouldn't expect anything else really. Not sure if our 330 has the sports springs or not (was an option on SE's, and our ride is fairly firm), but I'd say you'd probably want sport trim if you were considering the swap.

The BMW is far more solid though, far smoother engine also.

Thanks Hallsy yea, if I swapped I'd be going for the M-Sport manual 6-speed, with firmer ride, 18" alloys, etc etc. Price has come down, can be got for £6-7k now

I'm trying to do this tank as carefully as possible, and even then I'm only averaging about 37mpg, it's the short journeys and living on a hill I guess

Deacs - what did you do to clear up the cosmetic spider cracks on the headlights?
Also, did you have to get your steering wheel retrimmed? Should have the gf's 172 on the road tomorrow :-)

Took the car down to surrey rolling road on a whim today,

It did more power than standard, despite needing a service and running on asda 95! - Cant say fairer than that! - It did the most power for a standard car all day

That's a very good result indeed!!

My 182 made nowhere near what it should (was expecting about 170, I think it made 155!), but sticking calipers and a blowing exhaust were possibly to blame - it's certainly quicker now, so hoping for a better result when the SW rolling road goes ahead later in the year

Or rather, were the belts done properly by a specialist/Renault, or is the dephaser pulley dying? They're so sensitive to the slightest alteration.

182s never make near 182, 172s never make near 172 as standard, but 155 does seem a bit down on power.

Love the idle. bwarp, brrrr, brrrr, brrr, brurp, brarrrrr, brrrrrr, brrrr.....

My Dad's first words after a passenger run were 'have you had to hand your licence straight in at the police station?'

    Awesome car
Even if the CD player is being French on me at the mo
