    Adrian flux again CANCALLATION

Adrian flux seem to be getting worse and worse every year now! every year there is a cancellation letter they have had a copy of my licence a couple of years ago but now they want it again! now they want pictures of my van its just a pain in the ass its really not what you need from a insurance company I just want to ring up tell the details and its insured.

the only thing they are good for is taking the payments there never seams to be a problem there!!

You are complaining about having to send a copy of your driving license to an insurance company?

Jesus, I used to hate insurance as much as anyone but peoples expectations seem to be totally unreasonable this year, I dont envy the guys on the end of the phone.

let me explain now I have calmed down

I have been with them 4 years I don't have my paper licence so I paid the fee for them to carry out checks themselves, etc (which confirms no points no convictions and anything else they need to know). This has been fine for the past 4 years but because there was a small gap between my policies it is like I am a new customer all over again and I need to provide all the necessary paperwork twice? The frustration is that I still have a second running policy with them - the details they need are all there.
I find this out by a letter from them stating that if I don't provide them with a copy of my licence within 7 days they will cancel. I called and explained that it would take longer than 7 days for the DVLA to send me a new one, so basically I have to accept that out of the blue my policy is just going to be cancelled...?
The second policy I have is on a camper. This was taken out again without no problems initially but now they are asking for pictures of the exterior, the engine bay, the interior, and are asking for a valuation to be done.

All of this is out of the blue and each point costs more and more money, the cost of a new paper part licence (yes I know this is overdue anyway), and the costs of a valuation by a vehicle underwriter etc.
I just feel that seeing as though I have been with them for four years that it should be easy for me to just pick up the phone, notify them when I change a vehicle, and pay???

cant really see a problem, there just making sure it is what you say it is, AFAIK you only need pictures if you've got or are trying to get an agreed value.

think yourself lucky that your not me, i sent them everything by fax, they lost it, send it again, they lost it, sent it registered post, they said they had it, i recieved a letter saying that they had it, but then they couldnt find it.
they then cancelled my policy and tried to charge me due to me not sending my details in enough time!

this is when you start getting annoyed.

    Two things fella:
    1) Get your licence sorted; you'll need it at some point anyway so just do it, it makes a lot of sense and saves a lot of bother
    2) Just because you have a second policy "with Flux" doesn't mean it's with the same insurer, or indeed an insurer you've previously been with. Because there's been a gap you'll be a new customer to whichever insurer and will have to supply the relevant information to that new insurer - a search from 4 years ago doesn't count I'm afraid.

Did they advise you in their original paperwork that you had to supply them with a copy of your licence or has this letter just now sprung up?

Quite common on older classic vehicles - mainly because when a 1960's camper goes missing it never gets seen again and the owners will always insist it was in absolutely tip top condition, when I think we all know that most aren't. Valuation is worthwhile for your own protection anyway in the event of loss, so I would consider that just one of the nuances of having a specialist vehicle.

As explained you being with Flux for 4 years doesn't mean you've had the same underwriter throughout - Flux may have placed you with 3 different insurers in that time, each of which with different requirements. You just have to lump it I'm afraid.
