What about std wheels 205/55/R16>
Yokos are W-Drives
205/55/16 from Yokohama are £88.07+VAT per tyre - and in stock.
If anybody really wants winter tyres, order them now. Whether it's from us or elsewhere, they're selling out everywhere fast, so dont hang about.
Hey buddy ..... I am getting excited, are my Hankooks in yet :excited smiley:
Ice Bears are due here for you next week
Yeeeesssss !!!!!!! ...... you the man
on a front wheeled drive car would you need a set of 4? or would 2 suffice for the going/stopping/steering?
id assume summer tyres on the rear would make things a bit interesting
4 tyres !!!!!
If you hit the brakes in snow / ice and you only have fronts, it's pretty much guaranteed that your rear end with pirouette around the front and you I'll nd up facing backwards.
The front of th car will have loads of controll but the rear won't keep up with what you are asking the fronts to do
What Johnny said
I found in my S14a driving along a cambered road it was the rear that often just lost grips and fell, was a total pain
Do you know what the cheapest winter tyres you can get for the following are -
Not sure what profiles I could get away with..
2 * 17 x 9.5
&
2 * 17 x 9 wheels?
And
16 x 7 / 16 x 8 wheels (not 100% on the sizes for these)
Ideally want to run my 17s but everywhere im looking its like £130.00 per corner
17x9.5 are minimum 245 really.
17x9 are 235 minimum.
16x7 are 195
16x8 are 215.
You can obviously stretch them an run smaller ones, but that's the sizes we'd have to recommend.
You'll be looking for 17s at around £350-£400 for a set.
16s will be around £300 a set, possibly a bit less.
I cant quote exactly as all stocks are now in a constant state of flux I could quote cheapest now, and by tomorrow they could well be gone.
Ben could you do a deal on some 15" wheels to suit a ford and some winter tyres, Looking for wheels as cheap as possible as funds are tight but im really need winter wheels up here LOL

If you're after really cheap I'd suggest ebay, or finding some spare steels out of a scrappy
Its getting colder and colder ... have my tyres met my wheels yet ?
Although I still have a few more weeks till it gets to be regulary below 7deg
I have just chased again - hopefully I'll have an answer shortly!
