    Website update

I've spent the afternoon updating my website. Maybe you guys could have a look and point out any typos or other improvements that could be made www.detailingjem.co.uk

Looks good to me Jem, nice and easy to browse through and very clear.

I won't comment on any typo's as my spelling and grammar are terrible

'Unfortunately' in the Disclaimer, do i win a prize?

Also not sure if you could sell yourself more, terms like 'contact us' takes the personal touch away I think. A big pull for people to use you is that it's your passion for clean cars that makes the work so great and not a big company looking at the profit margins, just a thought.

    Looks good to me.

If i was to change something it would be the part on the left had side that says:

    Home
    Gallery
    Prices
    Contact us

Nothing wrong with them but the font could do with being bigger as they look a bit lost

    EDIT:

Also on your prices page you have the price for your detail in the title in the blue font, but when you get to your Silver, gold and engine bay prices you have stuck the price at the end of the paragraph that describes your services. Surely it would be better to keep them all the same and put the prices next to the silver, gold and engine bay in the blue followed by your description

All good points I've corrected the errors and reworded the 'Contact us' so sounds more personal. Unfortunately I can't change the size of the menu on the left, only the colour

    The disclaimer again..... eteching?

    On the prices page......

I will not accept any responsibility for any..... delete electrical or engine problems what..... it should say which arise after engine bay cleaning.

*Excludes exceptionally large cars and larger 4x4's and people carriers, please email me. My travel costs are included in any quote...... it should be a coma

I'm not trying to be picky though

With regards to the disclaimer again

You have used a * to begin the text as if you should be looking for the corresponding * on the info above it, then you come to the bullet points of the full Detail and find that it applies to every stage.

Could you not change the * on all the stages for something else and use the * next to the price for the full Detail ?

Also above the stages you have "That includes" change it to "This includes"

But im being very picky there

You've used 'ect' in the disclaimer, it should be 'etc'.

Looks good, a few things I would change:

-Make the font for the menu items much bigger
-combine paragraphs 1 & 3 on the homepage and make them the banner introductory paragraph in a bold text/bigger font than the body text.
-Forget paragraph 2 altogether but make sure you mention that you're a national service somewhere else.
-You mention high quality products but what products do you actually use?
-What about your 'story' on an about us page - you being anal about keeping your own cars clean leading to doing work for friends and then word of mouth meaning you were able to launch as a more serious business etc. - also mentioning you do work for members of car clubs is very important I would have thought.
-It's good to have an overview of your services on the homepage but you should also create a dedicated page talking about each of the services you offer.
-I would definitely remove some things from the homepage and put them on their own dedicated pages, again provide a brief overview with a link into the dedicated page, apparently it's good for SEO reasons to have quite a few internal links going between pages on your website.

Cheers Mike, just tweaked the home page as the spacing was a little odd, looks better laid out now. I cant make the menu on the left any bigger though. I'll look into your other points too

Just added a testimonials page too http://www.detailingjem.co.uk/Testimonials.html
