Lovely that, you should wear it.

Saying that I rarely wear my Portuguese
I may do that when the lockdown is over, thanks.
I’m going to say. I’m trying to build my fitness up (why I asked about the bike) I’m chopping wood with an axe, gardening (3.5 acres to do) and doing 5 mile a day dog walks. The Apple Watch helps me keep track of what I’m doing and the Omron Connect with Apple health tells me my BP is average 116/75 with average heart rate of 79. Resting is around 61. I’m gob smacked when the watch tells me I’m in deep sleep and my heart rate drops to just over 30.
It’s not jewellery, but I have to say the tech is impressive

No where near as extravagant as most, but for 32 quid, I can't believe how good quality these Casio watches seem.
Definatley worth a look if you want a cheap daily for work etc

But yeah, that's a bargain and they're proper rugged things. Can't go far wrong.
Grabbed some new straps from Watchgecko sale - only cheapies but something to mix it up a bit.
Didn't change the IWC one, obviously:
Loving the orange NATO on the SARB, but not so sure on the B&M as it's possibly a bit girlie for a big watch on a big wrist - but I'll wear it for a bit and see if it grows on me.
And here's the difference between an expensive watch and a not so expensive watch:
The SARB has lost ~1m 30 seconds over the course of circa 6 days. The IWC was set at the same time..... it's accurate to 5 seconds
I did also pick up one new watch - bit of an impulse buy and not a lot of money, but really well made and in super good condition for a 70's watch. The thing is I can't find any info on it whatsoever, so I've no idea what it is!
Google 70's Prestige Watch, Brand, whatever you like really and you get a list of prestige watches
I like that. That’s really nice
Do you ever cringe at how much you spend on luxury goods?
I seem to collect watches, sunglasses and now pens.
3 Omegas, 1 Rolex, 2 Swatch, a Rotary. An original Seiko Kinetic Titanium. A Tag Hauer which I wish I hadn’t bought now
5 Raybans, Oakley, my favourite are Maui Jim’s
3 Waterman, Mont Blanc, a number of Parker’s that my parents bought me at school. My Dad’s Cross pen. One of the Waterman’s I bought 20 years ago as I gave my godson a fountain pen for his christening present. I kept the partner ball point. Never changed the refill and it still writes perfectly
My best pen was hand crafted by my vicar. He milled the same wood he used to make the cross on the altar. It’s got quite a story. A cedar tree came down in Hatfield Peveral during the 1987 October Storm, when Michael Fish said “There isn’t going to be a hurricane “
It has an Iridium Nib which is gold plated. Waterman refill with J Herbin Ink in it. The thing about pens is, we stopped writing because it was more convenient to type and print.
My vicar is also restoring a Victorian writing slope for me
Some girls appreciate a hand written letter more than a printed letter or text message

So been following this thread since it started. Huge fan of watches and now in a position where I can start to build a collection. Got my eye on a Ball Engineer Aviator ll. However, after discovering a micro brand called Marloe and my love for windup watches I decided to start my collection with this. Bought a black perforated strap too. Made in Britain and has a Swiss movement.

That's really nice, like that. It sort of has a bit of the Smiths Military about it
Bremont doing 0% finance (10% deposit) is very tempting...
A Lloyd's broker friend of mine is old schoolmates with the brothers and goes shooting with them every so often. He's got a couple that he got very good deals on (although he's rich enough to not worry about it anyway). I keep hinting at him to get me a discount but one doesn't ever seem to be forthcoming.
Thanks Arry, it really is nice, its my first step up in the watch world. I really would love to get a Breitling Navitimer but that's one hell of a jump from this!
The specs:
40mm diameter, 9.4mm depth
Swiss Made Sellita SW-215-1 manual mechanical movement (28,800 bph)
Accuracy of +15/-8 seconds per day
Polished bespoke case
Sapphire crystal with AR coating
Quickset date complication
BG-W9 luminous treatment
Hacking function
72g (with strap)
20mm lugs
10 ATM

I really like that Marloe
Where do you get your watches serviced?
Goldsmiths want to send my Omegas back to Omega and I’d probably need to take out a mortgage...
There is a small independent jewellers in Maldon and the guy they have in there is a certified horologist. They will even arrange
To have my original Seiko Kinetic Titanium sent back to Seiko to have the capacitor replaced.
Worth testing them? They aren’t going to be accurate time pieces like my Apple Watch etc. But they do look nicer
