She'll forget she said that in 2-3 years anyway. Make sure she's there for the free champagne whilst your buying it
My missus never forgets anything she says with that importance. She forgets everything else though.

So I did do, did a do, did a buy, buy I did. Just been to Mappin & Webb; it's on order and I'm significantly lighter in the wallet department

Down to my last £150k now; time for another Heist.

Got to wait for it to come over from another store yet. They didn't have it in this boutique, but it's at the end of my road at work so.

I didn't get the warm fuzzy feeling from the sales pitch in Lakeside yesterday; today's effort in M&W was a different experience (right down to the dram needed to settle my nerves as I plumped for my wallet ). They beat the price as well, so can't complain.

So that's £11k+ spent this weekend on frivolities - my bank manager must be having a meltdown.

    Very nice mate

I know it's a drop in the ocean in cost compared to what the cost of the watch is but it's amazing how a few drinks makes it seem more special and a salesman who isn't too pushy. I don't like being told how much better the gold version looks on me vs steel etc!

The girl yesterday had me point it out despite it being both the only manual wind and the only Portofino in the window; and then proceeded to tell me I'd need to wear it every couple of days otherwise the movement wouldn't turn and I'd need to wind it up. Ok then.....

Despite the fact it's clearly got 8 days on the face!

I don't expect them to know everything about every watch but an understanding of each brands range should be a given.

I was told in WoS regent street panerai didn't make manual wind watches, whilst holding one...

Despite the fact it has no rotor so wearing it would make sod all difference, it'd still need winding.

The Tudor salesman was worse though - that one was tragic. Dugati FFS.

I could sit and look at watches all day. I'm a bit too rough for anything really nice as it would end up in pieces, but these are the ones I have at the moment. Probably a bit 'trendy' as opposed to some of the more timeless stuff in here, but I like going for unique designs.

    Storm watch for everyday/work:

Diesel LED watch for working on the car:

    Police watch for going out/driving:

Seeing as I started this thread, I thought I'd update.

With everything going on in my life, I had a spending spree today to cheer myself up. Ended up getting a genuine Stainless Steel Planet Ocean. Gets delivered in 3 weeks, so will get a photo up when it is on my arm.

Going to have to save a bit longer for the car...

I wasn't really a watch guy, but a few months ago I saw this and couldn't say no to it, Now I have an obsession with skeleton watches, always browsing to see if another tickles my fancy

Kept it wound since I've had it. Time difference over 2.5 months - just less than 3 seconds.

    Incredible.
