Woops, might have spotted that Timefactors were taking orders today for the first time in ages, got excited and spluffed a few hundred quid on a Smiths

Expecting the answer to be "nothing" but anyone know if an early 1980s gold Rotary is likely to be worth anything ?

Depends what it is really mate - you might be surprised; watches with a bit of age either sell really well or hopelessly badly depending. If it's mechanical, serviceable / running alright and in half decent nick then ~£50-£300 range I'd suspect.

I’ve just been researching the history of my Grandads watch. Jewellers didn’t even recognise the brand.

It’s a Paul Buhre Swiss Made 31 Jewel movement. It is in need of a refurb, but I have managed to check the serial number and it was made between 1907 and 1908.

I don’t care about the value because of the history and it is precious to me. But I have a watch that is over 100 years old.

Course I’ll never wear it because it isn’t a looker, and it needs an original strap (my Dads family never appreciated the watches they had - they put these awful stretchy metal bands on them - dad put one on his Omega seamaster)

40mm - it wears quite small actually, despite being 'classically proportioned' for a dive watch. I did expect a bit more heft.

38mm is about my limit for size. Most of my watches are 36mm. But 40mm is not too bad, I could probably manage that size. Definitely not kitchen wall clock territory. Very nice watch!

Haha, sweet. It's ok mate, I got a decent discount code for signing up to their mailshots so it didn't come in much over that

I have also been on a bit of a spree

    Laco Type B Flieger:

    Steeldive 1975 'Tuna':

Never a fan of divers generally nor bracelets but the SD is really impressing me.

I also have another flieger on the way

I’ve put my 1st edition Seiko Kinetic Titanium On after 20 years. It’s working. I want to get a battery for my Swatch the Beep. Should I go to a Swatch dealership?

Only if you're happy paying way over the odds for the work.

Local place will sort that for about 8 quid.
