So I bought another watch. Nothing too expensive this time.

Always liked Panerai but I can't do ten grand on a watch.

Started looking at homage watches and found this

Panerai Luminor Homage with a Japanese miyota 21 jewel automatic movement. Black PVD 904L stainless case, sapphire glass, Italian soft suede leather strap. Cost me 160 quid from a UK supplier.

Quality wise obviously it's nothing like my B&M but it's still very well constructed - heavy and reassuring and the movement gets good press for reliability. For the price I'm well happy

I just got this, certainly not on the level of most things in this thread, but I am a man of simple pleasures

It replaced a cheaper skeleton Rotary that went back for repair, only to be told that the part it needed was no longer available... would I like to pick a much more expensive model as a replacement?

    Hell yes.

Just got myself a Seiko SKX031K (The submariner homage) and its lovely. Someone's already mentioned the "R" word when asking about it
Thinking if getting a different strap, with black inserts in the middle maybe.

Bumping this up, decided to get myself a nice watch just a bit undecided.

Budget is a MAX of 1k, although I'd rather spend 500ish if possible. 1k is just for something really special. Don't mind second hand.

Few things that have caught my eye

Omega in general, seamaster planet ocean, and speed master

I also like some of the full tungsten watches, purely because of the nearly as hard as diamond features
I like ones that display the movement on the face if posaible, but not a neccisity.

Any suggestions? Seen loads of second hand planet oceans for just about 1k with all the authentication stuff.

    Lol on budget talk.

The same place where the search for a used VW Golf ended in the purchase of a Porsche 911.

Talking from experience, this is too easily done

Back to watches, I bought a nice Hamilton watch a year or so ago which I am still impressed with. Cost me £500 brand new. Think I put a pic on this thread somewhere..

I'd go with Hamilton, Christopher Ward and Tissot for that budget as my first shout

You'll then settle on something totally outside of budget because SXOC lol

Sideways' post also got me to have a look at seikos, here's a few that caught my eyye, the other bonus, is I could buy two, one more plain and simple, and one more 'lairy' or casual etc.

This one caught my eye, I like things like titanium etc, just an extra bonus.

Ignoring the shite about James bond, this one has a look to it I really like too.

Finally this skx007 looks plenty smart imo...

So so many nice watches around, there's a few Hamiltons I looked at too

Hm, kinda stuck between the seiko sun019p1, which is kinetic and pretty huge, or the skx007, which is automatic and a bit smaller, think the sun looks pretty cool imo

Just ordered this beauty, rung up and asked about it, guy gave me a 10% discount !

Wasn't a fan of the green bezels in the sale listings, and thought if I'm spending over 500 quid on a watch, I wanted it to be just right for me. Soon as I saw the bronzey coloured hands, I knew that was what I wanted. Pics to follow when it arrives!

Great watch mate, where did you get it? I'm in the market for something similar.

So I've got a couple of grand to spend.

Looking at either a Meistersinger Singular or a Bell & Ross BR series aviation watch.

    Which?? Or another??
