No way! I just came across that earlier myself!

It's good to see that the relaunched Zodiac have a vintage design. And are pushing more up market that a name like Zodiac deserves. When the name was bought and relaunched, from memory in the 2000s by an Indian investor, they were selling branded watches for 200 quid.
But like relaunched car brands, are they actually "Zodiac"? Or does it matter as they are lovely looking watches.

Back in the 50s and 60s they were dearer than Omega's, and as your man says, priced/ quality in the market of Rolex/ Mont Blanc.

When I was on the hunt for a Seawolf, I came across this Glorious, and bought it. Out of all my watches, it is my favourite and the watch I wear the most. Actually I've worn this everyday for the last 4 years.

    1960 Zodiac Glorious
    36mm case
    Automatic
    "Crinkle" dial.

Funnily enough I was staying away a few months back and a guy in the hotel seen it on my wrist:

    - Woo! I love your watch! I love vintage watches! It's a Rolex right?! :-0 :-0 :-0
    - No it's a Zodiac. Do you want to see it?
    - Zodiac?? Nah, you're alright.

    :-) :-) :-)

Have you thought about taking them to "Watches of Switzerland" to get the bracelet case polished?

Yema are good watches though. I've handled a Rallygraf and it was very well built at its price point.

Ah okay, thanks. But no, not a chance, way above my pay grade! I go with an independants, cheaper and just as good. I had a lot of my watches serviced in Poland, but he is retired now. :-(

Oh I do like the Xeric's! They're a bit different - easy enough to tell the time once you work out how they display it!

I'm still keeping an eye out for a nice Mr Jones one at the right price and time!

That is cool alright. But reminds me of when a fellow in work bought a binary watch. And not a cheap one. He bought a dear enough stainless steel one.

    - What time is it there Brian?
    - Eh.. 10001, one sec.. emm 2:15 I think. I'll get the hang of it.

    - What time is there Brian?
    - Fuk off!

He never wore the watch into work again!

So tomorrow, we (me and my work buddies) have booked a trip to Richard Mille in New Bond Street - opposite De Beers

It's just up the road from our office

Today I am wearing my 1970s HMT military* issue watch.

HMT watch company was set up in 1961 by the Indian government with the help of Citizen. And the HMT movement is based on a good solid Citizen movement of the era.

*The Indian military marked official issue tools with the same arrow as the British military did.
But finding an original real military issued one is nigh on impossible to find or verify. This one is a fake or a replica, whichever way you want to think of it.
It is actually a 1970s HMT Pilot which was redialed with the military dial, and the arrow engraved into the case back (badly! hence me knowing that it is not genuine). But regardless, it is a very nice looking watch, and for 16 quid at the time, an absolute bargain.

Interestingly for a watch of it's era, it has a stainless steel case and a screw in back, which a lot of expensive watches of the time would not have had due to the tooling cost for working with stainless steel.

Hope you didn't get giddy and pay over retail for it.

Tried to get one on launch day in Central London - % chance zero - more chance of getting stabbed.

Ummed and arred about this one but decided to see if I could snag one (ordering from TF is notoriously difficult and watches often go at double retail on eBay for this reason).

Had it sat in its box for about 4 weeks thinking whether I'd be that guy who makes a few hundred quid, or whether I'd keep it. Been seeing a few other purchasers popping up on Facebook and enjoying it, so I decided what the hell. Sized / de-stickered.

It's a bit of a mix of styles and I really wasn't sure on the Mercedes hands at first, but it is really decent quality all through.

That's 3 Smiths in the collection now.

Picking it up on Tuesday was another story though. Still haven't got it yet
