Sr20 forum trolling and found someone with correct timing as you have but running well fpr 2 mins then a bag of shite after?

    This is what he did

Second thing- I re-checked the CAS outputs with a multimeter, and again found that pin 3 (gives the 1 degree slit signals) was dead. Anyway I stuck the multimeter probe back in and pushed harder.. suddenly I got a 2.5V signal! which is in the correct range 2.0 - 3.0V.
The engine has been running great since then, so what I think was the problem is that the wire for pin #3 going into the harness clip was not properly seated inside and not making proper contact with the sensor.

    UPDATE:

Replaced the knock sensor - no difference
Checked the outputs from the CAS plug as described in the link above - all reading were present and correct, no loose wire issues with mine...

    Any other ideas?

if it was a boost leak how would advancing ignition timing make it run better?

Stop messing about and get someone with some proper indepth knowledge and proper hands on thats willing to help out and to basically start again and leave them to it

a fresh set of eyes may find the problem, I bet its something thats thought to be correct when it isn't and its being over looked

just looked at your cas position

If thats set at 15degrees with a gun.... then either your cas is a tooth out or your chain isn't lined up correctly and i mean on the crank and cams not just cams!

Heres a picture of my cas position set correctly at 15degrees using consult to lock it

Na it wasn't set at that point. It was near the middle when timed with light. To be fair how can you set it with the car in bits lol

I can assure you I've timed about 20 sr's and never came across this before and looking on the net doesn't find anything either.

So another night out at toppers but took Herman along to see if we could find out what is wrong.

So new info, the car is running on both the knock map and fueling map?
When running both maps are highlighted in green showing they are bothe being used.

We did some logs when driving and trying boost.

Does anyone know of any sr that used both maps before? I'm sure Herman will put up all the info

John I'm not exactly sure what you mean.

Am I right if I said that our thoughts before of the knock map retarding the ignition timing all the time is what is actually happening?

Worth noting that although both the map and knock maps should not run at the same time, they are identical.

Other than that the maps are fine.

Is it possible that with the cams at the correct position, timing etc set correctly that the chain could be a tooth out?
