    Stuttering....

    After a HG change, my car has had a stutter when throttle opened wide at idle (stationary), when driven it doesn't pull like it should, so far I have tried the following;

    1) Timing - all fine
    2) New AFM - no change
    3) checked all Intercooler pipework is connected

Anyone any ideas, it looks to me like a fuelling issue but not sure what to try. All was running fine ahead of the HG change...

    Dirty injectors maybe?

Any ideas welcome as I'm getting frustrated with not having her on the road....

    Thanks,
    Topp

I have a spare set of sr20 coils that are working if u want to rule that out?
What fuel pressure are you running?
    Could be a blockage somewhere?
    Changed the fuel filter?

Haven't tried the coils, changed the plugs but made no difference. Standard FPR fitted. Temp is good, keen to try the coils if that's cool? Fuel filter is prob worth changing to rule that out too.

Honestly what a disaster we had, trying to get my car working, fuel pressure is good, AFM working, wasn't the T on the FPR (boost controller), started pointing at the CAS/timing. Let's try Joeys CAS, car wouldn't start, put my CAS back in, run out of fuel...

We then put the CAS back in Joeys motor.... Wouldn't start... It's now abandoned at my folks, which is becoming a graveyard for broken 200's!!

All answers to a quick timing fix on a postcard...

We tried setting the block to TDC (by pushing the car in gear) then putting in the CAS, sometimes it started, other times it didn't. We tried a bit if trial and error, but even once running and being set to 15, was very rough, I.e. Still out...

The video above is my car idling fine, but when throttle opened quickly it pops down the filter...

So tonight we wen out and set the cams at tdc,
Lined up the cas sensor as so,

Car started first time and idled no problems.

Locked the timing at 15 degrees and set it with the gun.
The car started to idle a bit rough.

As soon as we opened the throttle it nearly died,
It's as if the timin is being retarded that much it wants to stall.

If the cas is altered the car runs better and is able to be driven.
Datascan was plugged in and have taken pictures of the readings.

Mark thinks it could be the knock sensor as it is the only thing that could cause the car to retard this, by altering the cas when the car retards the timing it does not retard it enough to stall.

The car was them able to be driven throttle opening fine.

topper i was thinking also that you said you moved the inlet manifold to one side when taking the head off. as the knock sensor is connected to the block and you pulled the inlet manifold away from the block its possible that you have pulled the wire off the plug (as its only a single wire).
