    Perfect car.

EDIT: Everything seems to say there's only 3 door CW FD2 CTR's available, I must have been mistaken Bummer. Thing about them is the LSD apparently transforms them.
Not seen one for less than 16k yet Reckon they'll hold their price quite well over here too.

DC5s are surprisingly roomy Much bigger than it's older brother.

I had an ATR as my main driver for a few months, and you do (as with any honda ever) have to wring its neck to get anywhere, thats why I sold up and got the 14a, for big mid range powah.

It did go round corners though! It doesn't handle like a 1300kg car, very chuckable, LSD as standard, lovely to be in, nice trim, seats are lovely, did 350 miles to a tank blasting down the motorway at 90-100 and some thrashing round at each end. Stereo was very good too. Everyone though I was bonkers for switching to a 15 year old datsun!

VERY expensive to tune (read: not alot available). Roomy and comfy in the back.

Without doubt THE funnest 'sensible' car out there. Makes vectras, mondeos and 320's look silly.

I miss it, but the engine was always all or nothing. When driving under vtec is seemed like an underpowered 2.2, which is essentialy what it was.

    EDIT:

Prefacelifts are prettyer, have the better exhausts, better bumpers and skirts etc., facelifts dont have any bumpe valances or skirts and horrible exhausts.

Expect to pay 2.5-3.0k for a pirates black/silver one

Expect to pay a grand extra for a red one!

Panic over, I found another Pirates Black car, quite local! Sent the seller a message, so will hopefully see it on Monday morning.

I'm used to driving the B18 Aerodeck which is also gutless outside of Vtec. Tbh I didn't even drive it in Vtec, so I'm used to it now! (The upside is it makes the S14 feel even faster when I do drive it).

Do it. I love my mates one. Do it and buy a fidanza fly, and get an air box, and enjoy. They sound wicked and are wicked dailys.

    Did i say do it?

    Bought one

Its Pirates Black with a well documented history (lots of dealer stamps, independant stamps and receipts). It's an owners club car and the owner was very knowledgeable and honest. Most importantly, it's had the Synchro work done!

All in all I think I got a bargain. There's a bit of cosmetic work to do. The front lip needs repainting. Theres a scratch on the drivers side that needs filling. The wheels need a refurb.

The interior however, is mint. A very nice place to be. It pulls strong (even out of Vtec it was fine to pootle around in).

The noise is intoxicating. Going to be very hard not to be a hooligan.

It did throw up an engine management light when the seller first bought it, but he cleaned the EGR out and now it's all good.

He's also removed the silencer flap system from the intake. The car sounds ridiculous considering its still wearing the factory airbox

I've put a deposit down and I collect the car on Tuesday. I'll be putting a project thread up when I get it

Stick with the factory airbox with the bottom corner cut out and a uprated panel filter over an induction kit, unless its the AEM V2

Yup, i don't see the need for an aftermarket CAI just yet. Only power mods this year will be decat I think.

    Well done!

They do sound incredible don't they?

As above, standard air box and panel filter is best.

Regularly check the oil level as they do use oil.

Synchro already done is a winner. Check your anti roll bar drop links as they fail, £60 for a new set of four. On really smooth Tarmac you may get what sounds like a worn out wheel bearing hum from the rear but it's almost always just tyre noise.

    Enjoy!

The drop links have already been done .

There is a slight noise when going over speedbumps. He warned me about this before we took it out, and I barely noticed it. Apparently its some squeeky bushes, but the ride felt very tight, so it's not of massive concern at this point!
