Viscous fan is perfect for stock car pushing stock figures and will cope with moderate tune too

If you are increasing power then you will eventually have to look at heat management.

When moving on cruse, you have natural cooling from the air you push through. However when moving slowly or worse stopped after a spirited drive/track session/drift session, the heat the fan must cope with due to the added heat from running more power is higher than the system was designed for.
Upgrading the rad is the first step but that will only ensure you have the facility to radiate the additional heat, when stopped you need to draw air through the radiator in order to dissipate that radiated heat.

I have experienced the inadequacy of the stock set-up first hand. This was while running a large capacity radiator and support mods BUT excluding the fans and controller im now running.

Also worth mentioning that removing the under-tray will also affect heat management. It is designed in such a way to draw the radiant heat from the bay naturally.

Also raising your bonnet at the rear by the hinges will do nothing to aid under bonnet temps, there is a reason for the intake for the cabin cooling system being in the scuttle panel.

Anyway Pictures of the cowling/fan setup im running as promised.

Twin fans mounted on custom shroud

Control fuses top to bottom -Fan one-Fan two-Control fuse.

Control cable exit from shroud to fan controller

(The eagle eyed among you may notice the cowling is not in contact with the side of the rad, this is intentional-wont go into it now though lol)

As you hay have guessed I have looked into the setup in great detail and have covered it on more than one occasion.
I have posted wiring diagrams etc and information based on standard cooling including hysteresis and temp switching points in threads too.
Have a search about and you will be able to research it in more detail

Hope that's helped you a little more.
