£700 isnt that bad for a super hx35

So the HX35 super is a hybrid one right?
Small exhaust side with a big/ HX35 compressor side...?
Yeah i think but only by a small marging of about 2mm smaller on the wheels and having a 8cm exhaust housing and think it's got a 12 blade exhaust wheel!!!
Don't you have trouble with mounting these? Are they straight garret swaps or top mounts?
Top mount with T3 flange. You can get cheap T3 top mount manifolds from ebay for example...
surely then you would also need long braided lines for water and oil, and custom pipework down to intercooler and air filter?
Compressor racing isnt the same as GS Racing, totally different guy. The 9cm2 housing comes on the HY35 and wont fit the hx35. It has a completely different turbine wheel. You really need twin scroll too to make the most of it. Even then the HX35 will be quite laggy. If you can make it work then fair play but i'v tried and ended up selling my hx35 in favour of a gt3071 Twin scroll. A second hand 2871 for that power is really the easiest and by the time you bought all the bits needed (wastegate, pipework, flanges, oil feeds, return) it doesnt really work out cheaper.

As said before twinscroll HX35 will be laggy, but single scroll HX35Super will be a lot less laggy.
Bahis Is there any other info on the Hx35 'super'? Finding it hard to find much out except it has a 8cm housing and tops out on 450 hp. Looks really good.
drifter_uk did you end up getting the hx30 or hx35 in the end if so how are you finding them?
Sorry for bumping a old thread
I really dont get why people are bothering with the holset turbos?? by the time you have brought them and then all the extra items to fit them-mani,custom downpipe, lines etc.. and then had the extra hassle/time of fitting them you may aswell have just gone for the bolt on garrett equivalent
It seems a false economy
Dont see how it's a false economy If people want to pay for garret equivalent e.g 2871/30/35 etc in the region of £1000-1500 then there happy to do that i want to try something different cheap as i can
i've just bought a genuine holset hy35 thats just been refurbed for $300-£193 shipped which is mega cheap
I would say that this turbo is good economy because your not getting your eye balls ripped out by garret ( this is my thought )
hopefully i will have full spool by about 3400-3600 maybe earlier just comparing with this 1.8t vw all i can do is try it all in all my budget of £500 will get everything (its actually comes to£460 all in )

Hey yeah I seen on driftworks you asking about the holset hoses for the HY35. Have you got any detailed photos of it. That is a good price mate.
Have you got the 9cm2 exhaust housing?
Hi ghost yeah it's the one with 9cm2 housing it's actually off an auto truck for it to spool quicker
also i've found out the hose i need for the line feed is -4an pipe with 1.5mm feed into turbo and 2.5mm coming from the block
and the return is -10an
here's some sneaky pics lol cant wait to get my hands on it gona have a bash at polishing the comp housing aswell
it's attached to a mitisi manifold in the last pic

Looks nice mate.
Been looking into the hx35 'super' turns out its a hx35/hx30 hybrid. It uses the the HX30 exhaust housing which is only 8cm2(.55A/R) but isn't twin scroll I just don't now what to do now :S
Is your HY35 twin scroll? You going to modify the mitisi manifold to fit the SR?
Hi ghost I was going to go for the hx35s but when I researched the net I couldn't find any1 running them but yeah they are a 8cm2 housing I think the wheel is different to the hx by 2mm but the housing will be less than .55 as the 9cm2 housing is .55 and it's single scroll
I'm going to buy a cheap eBay manifold £140 or summit and strengthing it a bit more Lol I just bought the turbo so I don't get the mitsi manifold
Oh I thought you had got a 4g twin manifold and was going to cut the flange off and weld the SR20 one on I hear its a very close fit.
When you going to have it finished? So i can get a better idea for my turbo
Be interesting to see how you find running that turbo. I like see different setups.
