    Superlow Seat Mount height difference?

    Hi folks

Does anyone know how much lower a super low side mount seat rail is than a regular seat mount?

I can fit nicely in my car with a hefty cage, yay! But with a helmet it's going to be tight. Apparantly we can modify these rails to make them about 20mm lower but I am thinking about getting a superlow if there's more room than that.

    Thanks!

    Ryan

I'm not sure how much lower they sit.

I've heard some people mount them straight to the floor to get them as low as possible. Could that be worth looking at? Obviously you will lose the ability to adjust the position of the seat which is a big bummer.

I'd prefer to keep the rake adjustment on the seat if I'm honest, I find myself switching positions depending on the type of driving. It's a valid option tho but a last resort if you get me.

To add a further question, does anyone have a DW Superlow fitted on a K sport fixed back?

    Bump for experience

Spoke to DW on email and they don't think they'll be more than 20mm down which is a modification I can have made to my rails.

Well, that hardly makes them super low does it??

We have a bride super low frame but nothing to compare it with?

Can take measurements if you tell us what to measure or if your passing anytime you can have a look.

800bhp, yes please, could you measure the height from the floor to the base of the seat? I can compare to mine in that case.

Dan, you're a douche. And also gay There's no seat on your rail is there?

Well, I didn't see that behind the bin liner windows

Coming round tomorrow afternoon to measure up, you don't have a choice. Floor pan is pretty similar IIRC. Be there, boil the kettle. Done

I think I remember hearing that if you have a very skinny seat you can put the mounting brackets on upsidedown and get the seat really low...

Hi Ben, thanks for that. Is that on a general rail or is that the case of the Superlow? I'm a robust chap so I can't see my K sport seats being defined as skinny either sadly.

The base of my seat is 60mm from the floor (measured at the centre toward the back of the seat)..... also i'm mounted on the 3rd slot on the side rail so in theory there would be another 30mm of downwards adjustment assuming nothing else interferes putting the seat almost on the floor

Perfect. Thankyou mate. I will go and measure up my seat tomorrow. I had a look at Dan Eltis' seat as well and I'm certain the information the Driftworks Rep gave me was wrong.

Thanks a lot mate, I've gotten a lot of advice out of you the past few months. I should send over some beer lol!

Only if you don't mind mate? I was more concerned about the seat base to floor gap comparably on the Superlow mount. But it definitely would be helpful fella

I've got about 50mm, not easy to measure. That's with the carpet still in, but not the mats.

I set mine up using the lowest bolt hole at the back with the front 2 slots higher.

If you cut them down you have to remove another bit on the passenger side due to the exhaust bump in the floor. Even then it still sits higher.

Thanks dude, I appreciate that. The fabricator next door is super nifty so I will feed that back to him.

So we know if 13 and 14 seat rails are the same? If so, Dan might be kind enough to loan me his DW SuperLow and I can see how it rocks.

Driftworks superlow in standard form are shit The theory is that the seat sits between the rails, but even their own Suzuka won't fit in there when fitted to an s body.

I bolted mine all in and then couldn't fit in the car
