    Holset HX40W

    I have an internally gated Holset HX40W in need of a rebuild free to take away if anybody wants it

    Can this be converted to external gate? I might have it off you I'd say. Just a rebuild.? Any damage?

    What's that the equivalent of in Garrett sizings? GT2860, GT3071, GT3576?

    Big, very big. The HX35 is similar to the GT35R and this is bigger.

    You could just weld the wastegate closed but the tidiest way would be to buy an externally gated exhaust housing, I havent stripped the turbo to see if there's internal damage but externally all I can see is a few scrapes where the compressor wheel hit the housing.

    And yes, It is a fairly big turbo.

    Nope. He thought it was but since discovered it's an hx40!

    Oh and the turbo was never the issue with the black hole. It was the standard head gasket that done it lol

    I'm on the beer in Cork city(Reardans FTW) the first weekend in July so I can drop it down then if it suits you.
