Had my final year project presentation today, it's such a relief to be finished.
The day started out a complete disaster, with my project not working at all
I thought i had blown a component in the pcb board, or at worst, made a mistake in the pcb design. I had not yet had the project working to specification as i only found out last friday before the bank holiday that i had the microchip inputs designed from copper botton of the pcb board rather then copper top
With the college closed over the bank holiday, first thing this morning was my first chance to see if the program worked and everything else done as supposed too. With the presentation scheduled for 9.30, time was running out very very fast!
Unfortunately at 9.30, my circuit was dead, not running the program to control the project and nothing was working. Thankfully i was given extra time to see if i could find the fault and get it working.
A few hours later after stripping the control box, testing the pcb board and checking the program, the simplest of faults was found. A spade connector had come off the top of one of the supercapacitors connected to the pcb causing a brake in the circuit
Something so simple could have caused a very different ending to my final college year. Gave my presentation and everything ran smoothly in the end. A happy ending to a very stressful few weeks
Finally after two years of being parked up in the garage, i can dust off my s13, get it finished and back on the road. Yes it does exist, but for now, it's bucky time
