    Red Top strange sound

    Hi.
Lately I have a little problem with my SR redtop.
You can hear strange squealing noise on intake side. Could it be injectors or camshaft?
Sorry for poor quality video, I will try to record new one in HD.

Anybody has some idea? Maybe some lack of oil, maybe water pump is dying?
I will record better video today in the afternoon.

Yesterday I had removed all belts to solve the problem.
1). removed power steer pump belt - still can hear this strange noise
2). removed viscose - still can hear this strange noise
3). removed water pump and alternator belt - no more noise (I couldn't recreate it)
So I think there is a problem with water pump bearings (maybe). I have to replace water pump with new one, because I have a little leakage. Preventively I will buy new water and power steer belt.

The water pumps go quite often so I'd put my money on that

Can you fit a smaller belt to the altenator only as it would be ashamed to go through all that and find out it was the altenator bearings.

Another thing to do is give the pulley a lift up and down to see if there's movement. This will tell you if the bearings are worn.

This is how water pomp looks like after engine gets hot, you can see little leakage from it.

Today I have tested water pump bearings with WD40. After 20 minutes of idling and little reving, I could not hear this strange sound. So I decided to drain the coolant and take out the old water pump.
This is how it looks like:

I think that my engine still has had the genuine pump from 1994

I have tested engine today. New water pump, but this strange noise did not disappear. After 3 revings it appears again and go out on idle. I think that alternator bearings are dying.

New alt bearings and new water pump installed. The noise is still can be heard. I have no idea where is the problem.
I have a theory that injectors are noise source. I think that they are going into some kind of resonance. Maybe they are fitted to tight or to loose. I am creating theory to problem, because I don't have any idea.

Take off all belts and start the car. If the noise is still there then look elsewhere but I still think it's belt or pulley related

Belts are new. New bearings in alt, new water pump.
How pulleys can causing such noise? They are worn?

    Maybe stupid question.
Can I use WD40 on pulleys to check them?

take them off first and start the car to confirm it is something to do with the belts then go from there.
